| Wanted to Introduce ourselves! Hi! I wanted to introduce myself & my fur-baby! I'm Jessica & I have a Morkie named Isabella. I have read other post on this website & everyone seems to be pretty open to Morkies. (I know other place get very offended by the word Morkie even!!) I just picked Isabella up this past Saturday & she is a doll. I hope that everyone will be able to help me along the way! This is the first long haired, high maintenance pup that I've ever had! I do have one quick question that I hope someone can help me with. I have noticed that Isabella tears alot & the hair around her eyes mats easily. I have been trying to clean around there with a warm wet washcloth. Is there something better I should be doing? |

| Hi and welcome to YT. I have heard that others use something called Angel Eyes. I haven't used it so hopefully someone else will post who has. You should definitely invest in a good pin brush and comb for your little one. Check out the products for sale forum. Mimimomo has Madan pin brushes and combs for sale that are really nice. I would recommend that you set up an area that you only "groom" at so Isabella will come to learn that, that is what you do at this place with her everyday. This can be a bonding time for the 2 of you. I do that with both of mine and love it. Can't wait to see pictures of you Isabella.

| Hi, welcome to YT. Would love to see pics of your little Morkie! I opt to use warm water on a cotton ball around my babies' eyes -- I clean them every night before bed. Sometimes allergies can cause tearing. I do not use mad pin or other brushes on their faces. I like the 4" Safari comb, it really can get the gookers out of the eye area. If you do it daily and wash their faces and eyes with just warm water, you really wont have too many mats or maintenance...or at least I dont. Welcome again!! This is a great bunch of knowledgeable members!

| Welcome to YT!! I agree with Mom to Hot Rod about getting a good brush & comb. Mimimomo sells Madans at an excellent price. The small comb would be perfect for her face. I know some members have posted that the food they're feeding can cause tearing and goop around the eyes. What are you feeding?

I'm gonna try something called angel eyes on my little guy, just ordered it from ebay. No matter how often I washed his face, he always has that problem. Hopefully the ANGEL EYES does the trick!

| I have been trying to post pictures of Isabella but I keep getting an error message "Security Token Missing" or something to that effect. Isabella is eating Diamond mixed with Purina puppy food. The guy we got her from was feeding her Diamond and we are trying to switch her to Purina. We are open to other things if they would be better. Although we do want our Chi to be able to eat the same food. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Welcome to YT! You'll like it here! Good luck with the eye goobers. Sometimes a change in diet helps. Like others have said, the same diet doesn't work for all dogs. Takes some experimenting. Be sure to check out the Health Diet section of YT!

| Hope I did this right! These are pictures of Isabella the day we picked her up. One is me with her. She has the cutest little face. One is my youngest son, Kade, with her. He loves her and so far she is great with children! |

| I personally wouldn't suggest purina puppy chow. I'm actually picking up my new edition tomorrow so I've been doing a lot of research on the best foods for him. The Purina puppy chow is what the breeder was feeding my puppy as well but it has corn in it which is really hard for the babies to digest (from what I read). I think the Diamond is much better. I'm switching my little boy to Royal Canin as soon as I pick him up! Just check the ingredients of different foods and try to avoid alot of corn or preservatives. Congratulations on your new baby!
