Oh, go ahead! Have a vew drinks and get on the internet and tell us more about Chewey! I thoroughly enjoyed your story. One of my daughters pups turned out to be like Chewey. She sold him (cheap) to a lady and man who just love him even tho he got to be 12 lbs. He is so much a part of their family! He comes for sleep-overs when they go out of town and can't take him with them. He is so much bigger than the rest (twice as big as his mother, and about 3 times as big as his father). But he is such a clown and such a good boy, it is a pleasure to "baby-sit" him. I don't care if he weighed 100 lbs. he would be a pleasure to own!! I am so glad Chewey found you, who seem to appreciate him for himself.

| Hamoth, I loved the story!! I hope you write for a living. If you don't, you should. And BTW, Eddie's father, I've seen you turn a phrase or two yourself. We've got lots of talent on this board.

WOW, Hamoth, I love the story of how you met Chewey. It was an awesome read. I agreed if your not a writter then you should. Actually this is the first pages of your book. I was there with you. It was so touching. I felt the connection Chewy and you got. Im so happy that you guys found each other. By the way I didnt know you were a man either. Mike(Eddie's dad) and you both are great and I love to read your stories. By the way, if this is how you write after a couple of drinks, wow.

It was a great well-written story. But, I have to stick up for the "underdog" just a bit. I do realize that all dogs are different, and each has their own personalities. When I was a kid, we had a Schipperke -- who was absolutely the greatest dog -- and totally opposite to what your description was. She was actually on the small side of the breed -- probably between 5 and 7 pounds. She was the calmest non-hyper dog ever. She got along very well with three young girls -- and outlived two of our three German Shepherds. The dogs all got along great. Although she did bark occasionally, (when warranted) but she was definitely NOT yappy. She had three litters of puppies -- (with three little girls dressing them up and playing house with them) that were almost all sold before they were born. She won a few blue ribbons at the local dog shows. The only thing close to negative about her was that she did shed... and she ate every one of our Guinea Hens (when they were babies) I think there were three or four of them. I'm sorry to hijack the thread... you really do have the talent for writing. Will look for more stories from you!

You made me cry!!! but they were happy tears!! You are not a good writer YOU ARE A GREAT WRITER!! Wow!! That was a terrific story and I did cry too when you told the part about your father killing Lady!! OMG...I have never forgiven my father for not paying for my dog to be fixed when she was hit by a car. He put her to sleep becuase we couldn't afford it. I don't know how you could ever forgive him for what he did when she just had fleas....no wonder you are afraid. Thank you for sharing that...it was so great!
