Thanks for the Laugh! I am certain that your post is a joke. I'd seriously be concerned if a dog could make you doubt the strength of your own sexuality. Anyway, if you were serious, I would suggest you rehome your Yorkie. They are loyal, loving, and so much fun. Your dog deserves a home where it's well being and happiness is more important than your sexual identity. If you were joking, thanks, you got us all awake and revved up for the day. Keep us posted on your decision. |
I'll take him off your hands.....my DH is retired/disabled military, 300 lbs and very manly. He loves our two furbutts. He hates when I take Rily's shirt off and don't immediately put another one on. He is as proud of ours as I am, maybe more! So Pm me, I'm sure we can work something out if you are SERIOUS! ;) |
Ooh MY!! It's not good to think that way, owning a Yorkie doesn't mean you are gay. I'm sure you will find a lot of Yorkie Papa over here ;)) |
A Yorkie is a big dog in a lil body and why would you:confused: even think that way? When you get a dog it should be for the right reasons! Gosh I hope change your thinking! |
The OP is obviously not MAN enough to respond to any of the comments, or maybe it's nap time :). |
You guys give this poor guy a break! I think he came on here for reassurance that no he doesn't look gay with a little dog and it's ok to keep him and love him, how many of our husbands or boyfriends made the same comment not wanting a small dog because they would not look macho lol including mine you guys should see the big Italian macho man picking up his little pwincess and cuddliing her yes even in public lol. The first time we went to obediendce classes with her she was tiered and fed up by the end and wanted to be picked up of course daddy picked her up imidiately a lady with a 3 lbs yorkie scolded him and said whats wrong with you she's a dog not a doll put her down he just looked at her and said well she is my doll so I'll do as I wish with her lol. So to the op go ahead and keep him and don't be afraid to show your love for him. |
Hmm, we just got our third Yorkie over the course of 12 years, and my hubby has never been approached by a gay man whenever he was out with one of them. However, he has been approached by LOTS of women! Who you attract is determined by the signals YOU send out, not your dog. Man up. |
If having a yorkie makes you a gay guy. I must be a lesbian or transgender because I have a manly BULL TERRIER . :p:p:p Your not gay if you have a yorkie, you are going to be attracting alot of girls thats for sure. |

I can't believe how heated you ladies get on these threads. CALM DOWN. Everything is going to be okay. :) After reading this thread and a couple others on the General Discussion forum I'm beginning to see why some people have a less than wonderful view of small dogs and particularly small dog owners. There is no need to get so defensive. |
I am a guy and I own a yorkie and I am not gay. These dogs are really great! just find a better home for ur puppy cause when u do walk ur dog u are going to worry what ppl are saying about u as u walk ur puppy.:thumbdown |
While I wonder if this is a joke, I'm going to respond anyway. Owning a yorkie, or any other small breed of dog, does not make you gay, anymore than going to the garage makes you a car. If you really love this little guy, keep him and don't worry about what other people think. Honestly, if someone else thinks you are gay because of the kind of dog you have, I'd wonder about their sexuality WAY more than yours. If you cannot get past what other people might think, then I think he should be rehomed. He deserves a person who isn't embarrassed about loving him. Blessings. |
Recently I saw an old western movie on TV. One of the cowboys had a yorkie with him allll the time. When he & his friends took off to ride their horses somewhere, he'd stick the yorkie in his shirt & off they went. Took him everywhere! At home he even had a special swing on his porch he'd sit the dog in. Cowboy was a very manly man & no one heckled him at all or questioned the guys manhood. Of course it was fiction, but made a good point. Watch Dog Whisperer (Nat Geo) & It's Me or The Dog (animal planet). You'll find manly men w/little dogs & really care about them. Last winter we took Roxy to buy warm jackets. Found a pink velour hoodie I couldn't resist. At that point (she was a pup) I hadn't wanted to push the pink thing on DH too much. She left the store wearing her new pink jacket. DH puffed up his chest & proudly carried her through checkout & out the door. He always thought little dogs were worthless rats. Now he worries over her, doesn't like to come home if she's not here to give him her happy greeting, takes naps w/her, takes her for bike rides... also in his big tractor. Roxy has wrapped his heart right around her little finger, & he's really enjoying her happy little self. With yorkies hair growing, you can butch him up however you like. There's even some cute boys clothes. The others are right... yorkies are great girl magnets! You just need to be secure w/your manhood. |
Should I keep him Give me a break! Real men aren't afraid to own a small dog.. They're secure enough with their manhood to not worry about that. I've had back problems, and I tend to casrry a purse that is much too heavy. I try to carry a lighter one when I'm out shopping. Sometimes, I forget. When I do, and my husband sees me struggling with the heavy one, he will take it from me, and carry it himself. Now, that's a real man. He's also a former high school and college football player. I have to agree, yorkies are chick magnets... unfortunately. |
