I'm sorry, but why on earth would you buy a puppy just before leaving town? And then give the poor thing back to the very place where he got sick? You said you rescued two cats. Why didn't you take Lucas to a rescue? I cannot even imagine the trauma that puppy has been through. God help Lucas and I pray he finds a good and loving home with responsible owners.

I would try to contact the OP first privately. There may be more here that we're not aware of.

You have such a good heart. :) But try to let it go tonight and get some sleep. Send a private message to the OP (Lucas88, I think) and just talk to her first.

Yorkies are wonderful dogs, but they really need owners who are knowledgeable about the breed and have the time. Please stay on YT for awhile to learn more about yorkies. There is a lot of great information here. Read, learn and think about it. When the time is right many of us will gladly help you with a new little furbutt.

While he was under this vet's care, was he not yours? I mean had you paid for him already? I don't see how they can just decide to give you back your money and say your not the owner anymore...sounds shady to me.
She relinguished the puppy back to the pet store, and they returned her check.

I don't think the vet is part of the pet store. But in order tro get the pet store to pay the vet bill she had to turn him over to them.

Why do we still allow live animals to be sold in stores in this country???

Oh! How sad...I didn't realize the she took the puppy back. That makes me shudder.

This just makes me sad and angry:mad: But I will have to talk myself into the fact, that because the pet store is still out to make money on this poor pup, they won't put him down. They will just turn around and sell him to another unsuspecting soul. Poor little guy! Sorry, but I would have kept him and taken this as a sad lesson well learned: DON'T EVER, EVER, EVER BUY A PUPPY FROM A PET STORE!!! EVER, EVER!!!

I said....when she has had time to think and learn more about yorkies. We all start somewhere. I agree that she is not ready yet by any means.

I'd like to believe that but my guess is they will cut their losses. hopefully they will turn him over to the vet and the vet can find him a good home.

that is the scenerio that makes me feel the best.

I know she's wrong and did some things that were very wrong, but she is new to this. She made the same mistakes that lots of new yorkie owners make. I don't think attacking her will encourage her to hang around and LEARN.

I've said what I needed to say, and I'm stepping out of this thread now.

:thumbup: I totally agree. She did make some mistakes but you cannot educate people by attacking them.

I\'m sorry to attack, but I can\'t help but think about poor little Lucas. This was a BIG mistake. It wasn\'t someone who was having problems potty training, upset with the barking, or chewing on things. This dog\'s life has been compromised. Lucas was not a mistake or a learning tool. He was a little boy yearning for love.

People will purchase from pet stores. I know it\'s bad, but people do. But the ones I see posting here who have want to know how to improve their Yorkie\'s life, not take it away.
