| they are called chocolate yorkies. It is a fault to be that color but if your not breeding or showing it doesnt make a difference. They make a nice pet. Hopefully the breeder isnt charging more because of her coloring

| I found this: Chocolate Yorkshire Terrier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I guess as long as you're not showing or breeding, anything goes

| It is not an acceptable show color, but if you plan on only having the pup as a pet... it would be perfectly acceptable!

| Are you sure it's not an accidental breeding with another dog that's not a yorkie? Do you have pictures? |

| we decided after doing some research last night not to go ahead with this pup, we were afraid down the line if there was going to be problems, there might not have been, but i didnt want to take the chance and be landed with huge vet bills, as i said we are a pet home, so our search is still on a huge thanks to everyone who responded

| i have a chocolate yorkie, i got her spayed at 5 months, she is now 7 months she is akc registered but she does carry the alopecia gene, she is 6 lbs , i also have a traditional yorkie , male and he is 4lbs and he is 5 months old, i love them both. i dont knoe what i would do without them , their pics are on my avatar, i can post pics of her when i first got her , they werent very good looking pics because he breeder shaved her and kept her outside and fed her bad food, they both are on the raw diet and her coat is getting much better from when i got her, very dry coat, thin hair on her back and top of her hair.

| I see everyone answered your question but I just wanted to say that I love the Chocolate Yorkies too. I reallythink they are pretty. If you are only having her as a pet and they are not trying to scam you for a higher price then I'd go for it. Good Luck. Elaine |
