Peeing in bed! ARGH!! Maddie has been doing so well! She has slept with me in bed since I got her and now all of a sudden she is peeing in bed! I have stairs for her and if she has to go in the middle of the night she goes off the bed and pees on the potty pad on the floor but in the last week she has peed in the bed 2 times! I'm giving her one more chance and then I think she is going to have to stay in her pen at night for awhile. Any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions but I wanted you to know that my Zena did the same thing. She sleeps with us and has been very good but sometimes she will pee the bed and also go number two on the carpet in the front room. It happens every once in a while. I guess its just what they do.

Thanks for the response. I heard that sometimes they have a couple "set backs"...I'm hoping that is what this is...

| you know, Sushi did that a couple of times when she was a puppy. She had steps to go up and down but I think she was a baby and sometimes she felt kinda lazy to go all the way to the pad! But she grew out of it and she NEVER makes any mistakes ever! Just make sure you clean the sheets right away. Do you have one of those protective things on your mattress? If not, you might wanna invest in one. They are easy to wash, and prevent the pee to seep into your mattress, which would be really really hard to get rid of. If it did get to the mattress already, just soak the spor with a generous amount of nature's miracle, then let it dry.

he peed my bed too! My yourkie boy who just turned one peed on the down comforter at the foot of the bed yesterday right in front of me. That is his bed too! I am not sure why...he has been so good about it in the night. He lets us know when he wants outside, but he lifted his leg and did it right in front of me. I was so shocked. But he knew as soon as I said NO and ran to the back door to be let out. I think he is just young and will not do this again. He said he was sorry to me. And I accepted, of course!

I took the sheets off right away and changed them...so glad I have an extra set. They will go in the washer tonight. I'll have to look into one of those liners, just in case. I feel so bad I got so mad at her last night. She knew I was upset and just looked at me with those big "I'm sorry momma!" eyes...poor baby!

Peeing in bed I already have a waterproof matress cover, but I did have to change the comforter to a washable type for now, until he gets older. They do make mistakes when they are young and they do get so sad when you say NO in a loud voice. But that is how they learn. Scolding works. Punishing does not. But I do agree if they make a habbit of peeing the bed they should sleep in their crate. I love my little furbutt baby soooo much.
