well whats better than ALL of use getting to go to the Dr Phil show to show our support of you and your search for your precious Cookie!!! hehehe.. Well its worth a shot anyway... :) |
If anyone else would like to email the show just go to www.drphil.com click on email the show and enter your story. We all know the squeeky wheel gets the oil and Cookie and Gen could use some. By the way Gen, I just though of something and wanted to share. About 15 yrs ago we had a litter of Golden Retrievers that we sold. We got a call one of the families puppies got through the fence and was gone. George was about 15 to 16 weeks old at this time. They of course put up flyers, called everyone etc. The internet wasn't that large at that time. Well over 70 miles away across the other side of the mountain (its east TN) a little 7 yr old boy was praying to God to send him a dog. Adam got off the bus one afternoon to find his BUDDY waiting for him. They went home and his parents advised they had to try to find his owner as he had a collar on but no ID. His coat was matted and muddy, so they feed, bathed and put up flyers. Dad said he needed to get checked out so they went to the vet. The vet said well it lookes like you have a 3 year old 68 lb boy, until he checked his teeth, he then advised BUDDY was only about 3 months old and was going to be a big boy! About 2 months latter they got a call from the family that lost George, someone they knew went to the same vet and overheard them talking about the large golden that was in there, they inquired and got the information and passed it along. They were going to come over Friday afternoon. The news had to be broken to little Adam. When the families were talking in the living room, Adam appeared with his piggy bank and wanted to buy Buddy. Needless to say the families worked out a deal and Adam became the owner of BUDDY. It seemed Georges family lived on a farm and could use a hand with some chores and Adam was Buddy was faithful in showing up to pay their debt to be together forever. Buddy topped out at 96 lbs and remained with Adam. Gen, god knows how to use his creatures here on earth, both human and animal, and I feel you already know this, I hope this gives you hope, not sadness, I just wanted to share, Cookie could be anywhere, this little guy traveled over 70 miles and was given a good home. But they didn't know George was ok for over 3 months. Then they found it in their hearts to allow George to give a little boy years of love and happiness. They paid $300 for George and I'm sure they took a loss to give Adam happiness, piggy banks are not that big. But its the people like them and YOU and YOUR FAMILY that makes this world a little better place. By the way how is your NEW KID doing?? She is so beautiful. Is she still sleeping with you? |
Hi Gen, Just stopping by checking for your lastet update on Cookie. I am terribly sorry he has yet to be returned to you but so very happy to see a little girl that is now wrapped around your heart. God does work in mysterious ways you know. Look at all the different people who are helping find your precious baby. It gives you a warm feeling inside to know there are so many good people still willing to help those in need. Never, ever give up hope. This is the season for miracles. Cookie would be so honored and so very proud of you to know how far you went to find him. It's really not reality to think he's still in the area. I think someone has him and is now far away. Who knows, with that story in the paper, and Dr. Phill a possiblity there's still so much hope, even being far away, someone will recognize him from either of these stories and contact you. If someone far away has him you can find comfort in knowing he is safe and warm and has shelter. I do hope and pray you find a closing to this mystery so at least you have an answer. In the meantime enjoy this precious gift that has been given to you and know in your heart no other person could have done more to find their baby. Hugs and Merry Christmas and a Happy and Wonderful New Year, |
wow gen your becoming a yorkie farm(in a good way ) thats okay my boyfriend and me together have 6 dogs i know cookie will make it home one way or another i just hope he is not to sick when he gets there |
Gen, I am still praying for Cookie's safe return SOON! Congratulations on your new addition to your family. Your little girl is adorable and I'm sure she already knows how much she is loved. Same thing for little Jasper. Sending hugs to your little Yorkie family. |
This thread has gotten so big that I don't remember if this was mentioned or not. Some groomers have scanners, too. One that I've been consulting about Cookie's disappearance has one that will scan all types of chips. You should get word out to your groomers just like Gen and others have done with vets, rescues, and shelters. This is the time of year when you might have your little one at a groomer for a holiday trim. Gotta look good for the guests! We might catch more than one stolen Yorkie! If a groomer has a new customer with a Yorkie, or any other breed, they should scan it. Please help get word out to these folks, too. |
