My husband left with our daughters a few minutes ago to feed the homeless. A tradition we started last year. I've always said I wanted to do that but never found where to go. Before they left this morning my husband headed out the door around 9 am with a flyer in hand. I didnt even ask. He came back in tears and he could barely talk. You see lastnight another woman called and said the same thing about the girl walking a dog on their street. So to confirm once and for all, my husband went and knocked on their door this morning at 9! The parents talked to him and the little yorkie came up to my husband being super friendly and layed down on her back so he could pet her...yes its a female. So for sure once and for all that is not Cookie. I know my husband wants to be a hero and give me the biggest surprise walking in the door with Cookie in his arms. He's already my hero for how he's been with me for 19 yrs. I think now my husband is the one who is breaking down because reality is sinking in. So I'm home waiting for 11 ish to put the turkey in the oven. I'm ok during the day but at night it hits me hard and even with a sedative I woke up lastnight several times. I keep having this feeling or dream that Iwill wake up and find a small crate in my front door with Cookie in it wagging his tail along with a taped piece of paper that says Sorry on it. I will check in later. Gen |
Oh Sweetie your posts give me goosebumps. I'm so sorry that Cookie's still missing. I hope and pray everyday that I will come here and see that you've found him. You did a wonderful write up for your paper. I so hope that they print it. I couldn't see where to post comments though. If you know how please let me know and I'll send in one. (((((Hugs))))))) and prayers! |
Gen, I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you and Cookie, every day and night. i've been busy with my sick little girl and haven't posted much here, but have been religiously checking the thread, hoping that one day I would open it and see good news :( Happy thanksgiving to you and family. My thoughts are with you all. |

Gen, I can't stop thinking about you and your family today. must be really really tough having a family holiday without cookie. My heart aches for you. At least I have my little girl out of ICU at home with me (although Canadian Thanksgiving is not today, it was back in October). Try and hold your chin up, at least for your family. |
You have to register your email and make a password to be able to leave comments. I was dreading sitting down for dinner. This year I said grace and it was a tough one. I thank God every day that my family is all with me and my kids, husband and myself are very healthy. That we are home having a beautiful dinner but I had to add a little prayer at the end. I just couldnt finish it because my voice just cracked. I just said " and God you know what else I wanted to say" amen . We held the wishbone and I won. I told my husband " it doesnt matter who won,we both have the same wish" Our 3 other pets were next to us and had a rare treat, bits of dinner roll and turkey breast. It was hard, it was very hard having 1 dog near each lap and I was sitting there looking down waiting for one of them to come near me so I could pet them. Tomorrow I'm visiting some shelters because I got a call from a lady who used to volunteer at the Animal Control in my area and she said even if Icall to keep going in person and ask to do a walk through. She said she found a dog once and took it to them and then the owner went to see and they told her that they had no beagles in there. Well guess what ? Her dog was there!! The volunteer told me many times they don't scan dogs or they dont call the owner once they do scan them! So this is why someone from YT called to see if they had reported a missing yorkie and they told her no! But right there in front of the receptionist was Cookie's flyer including his AVID chip number ! Gen |
I know it's a long shot but I checked Palm Beach Co Animal care & control & they have 2 male yorkies that were turned in. One on the 16th & one on the 18th. One of them looks like he was just shaved. They are in the found section & not the adoptable section (I rarely ever see a yorkie in the adoptable section cause I think the workers take them for themselves). SNAP |
At the dinner table today...I prayed for Cookie. I hope, I wish and I pray...I will continue to do so until Cookie is safe at home where he belongs, with his family that loves him so deeply. |
I am new to YT but me and Bailey are praying for when Cookie has returned home to you and your family |
