| They are the same thing, the only difference is where the words originated. Leash from old French and lead from Old English. |

| Good question. I was sure they were the same thing. I've been using the terms interchangeably.

| They are the same, but I think "lead" is used when showing.

| Same thing? Yep...me too, I think they are the same thing and the terms are used interchangeably. I've noticed that trainers such as Cesar Milan and Victoria Stilwell use the term "lead"
