| Yorkie person gone mad Seriously yall,, this drama is playing out as we speak. So I started this new job, and I met a lovely lady who is in to yorkies. She had some in the past, and she lucked up on this older lady who was a serious breeder, but she is now too old to care for them. So she was about the business of finding good homes. So she sold Sugar tomy new friendX (about a 2 year old ), OMG she is gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. My new friend who I will refer to as NF from here on, says she settled right in and is doing great. She is just so pretty I can't tell you, maybe I can get a picture later. Anyway, the older lady had a younger friend who was all up in the transaction. The younger friend decides that she will keep Sugar's papers until NF has her spayed. Now our airline is changing over to the new Delta system, so this requires some really serious, intense week long classes for long hours. Not to mention that everyone is stressed by giving up years of what they know and what works for a newer and MUCH more difficult system. NF is stressed over the class and getting Sugar settled in, and sad that she has to be gone from home for long hours right here at the beginning of having her. In the meantime, this other lady, who inputted herself into this situation decides to tell NF that SHE wants SUgar spayed by this past MOnday. NF explained that she did not yet have a selected vet, the timing was impossible given what was going on at work, and also she wanted to be able to be home with Sugar when she has it done. The lady INSISTED that it be done when SHE said, or she "was not going to release Sugar's papers." NF basically asked her how she got in charge of everything, and this lady insisted that she was "thrust" into the situation. Then my friend (who is a lady), just decided not to take her calls for a while, given the fact that she could not comply with her wishes in her time frame, did not understand how this chick became the mouth piece of the other lady, and also has every intention of getting SUgar spayed as soon as possible, but geeeeeeeeeeez. So she comes to work and let's me listen to this message the lady left.. OMG...she cursed NF out and told her she BETTER call her back because "I kNOW WHERE YOU LIVE." The chick has con beserk.....I know we love our yorkies, but this lady has LOST IT. I'll keep you posted.

| That's a crazy situation. That woman should not be leaving threatening phone calls. Maybe your friend will have to get a restraining order. If your friend already has the dog, she should get it spayed when she has the time to take the proper care of Sugar. If that means she doesn't get the papers, is that any big deal?

| Wow, I hope everything works out for your friend. I would be a little afraid of what she might do. Does she know that your friend is working all these crazy hours? Sorry, don't mean to add to the stress level, but better to be cautious. Can your friend go back to the original breeder and talk with her about this crazy person calling her? Best of luck.

| Did your NV sign any kind of paper work or get any kind of receipt or contract when she got the dog? |

| So, do you want the dog or the papers? Is your friend planning on breeding her? Papers don't mean a thing, not really. Unless you're planning on breeding or showing, you don't need them. When I got my Bella-boo, her papers were withheld by the breeder pending proof that she was spayed. The reason? They didn't want her bred. Good enough for me ... I didn't want to breed her anyway. I got her spayed when she was old enough ... but never asked for her papers. Basically, papers are only proof of lineage, and necessary only if you plan to breed. I fell in love with the pup, not her pedigree. You state that the original owner was a serious breeder who is retiring (herself and the dogs). It can very well be that she doesn't want the dogs continuing in a breeding program, and required proof of neutering. Rescue dogs are neutered; PoundPuppies are neutered. LOTS of dogs are neutered. As I see it, you're dealing with an overzealous individual who simply wishes to ensure that the original breeder's request is fulfilled. YOU have the dog; SHE has the papers. If the papers aren't assigned a value to you, I don't see a problem. What am I missing? |

| Wow! She sounds crazy. She had no business leaving an outrageous message. Your NF should tell her that she is going to report her to the police for harassment. She can get her spayed when she'sable too. If they were so adamant about it they should done it before they let her be adopted. |
