| The best thing t do would be to go meet them and see in person which one is best for you. You will know when you have found the perfect Yorkie for you. |

| I think THEY pick you, not the other way around. Fergus ran straight into the room and started chewing on my shoelaces, then when I picked him up he snuggled right in and started giving me kisses...I had had the worst weekend imaginable, was tired, sad, and was ONLY LOOKING. I was checking out the breeder...then he kissed me and it was game over! If this boy has captured your heart, I say, go for it. There are great girl dogs, great boy dogs and lots and lots of opinions, but the only one that matters is YOURS. Do what your heart says, and if that means letting this little boy in, then do it. I wanted a girl to dress up and carry around (I admit it! I have a teapot and I love him to bits, but I wanted a little scamp to run around with me) and then Fergus found me and I can't imagine life without him.

| I think both are equally lovable! As long as they are "fixed" there should be no major difference in "quirks"

| I would just like to reiterate what everyone else has said thus far. Go meet both of them and see which one captures your heart. As far as whichi s better male or female it really depends more on the dog then the sex. What I will say that I have found and is and this is only my own experience is that the males seem more to be mommy's boys. They have to be right up your butt. Also, they seem to train easier, again this is only my experience. My first Yorkie was a male and we had him 10 yrs before we lost him to cancer. He trained a lot easier and listened better. I have five girls now and one boy and I will still say that my boy listens better then my girls and is much less spiteful. The girls I feel are more independent. Sorry, just my opinion. Really though, go meet both and see which clicks with you. I believe that the dog picks you and not the other way around. Elaine |

Anyway, I agree, I think they pick YOU, not the other way around. Uni was so tiny when I went to see her. She pulled herself up into my lap and snuggled in and went to sleep. That was it, I was sold! (Her brothers didn't even pay any attention to me or Uni for that matter!)

| I agree... They pick you! When I was looking for my baby, I had set my heart on a little boy, I have always had females, love them to pieces and spoil them rotten! But, alas they always bow down and worship my dh! So this time, I decided to go for a boy, praying that I would be the apple of his eye! when I went to go and just LQQK I found little GiGi, stink pot was so tiny and I was scared to death a mill would pick her up as the price was under 300 for her. Her brother sadly, I didn't even pick him up as I was so scared to death for GiGi. And yes, she too worsheps the ground dh walks on, and what a little terror, I think that is the part dh likes the best...lol anyway, even though GiGi is only 4 months old, I am STILL secretly looking for that little mellow lovebug boy that will be MINE MINE MINE ALL MINE!! I have to say, those little biewers are just so darling!!! lolol Best wishes to you on youre selection, I know it will all work out!

| Yep! They definatly pick you. I went JUST LOOKING too and even took the hubby to make sure LOOKING was all I did. We went in and there they were. I pick up the first girl, cute, but she just didn't feel right. She was squirmy and nippy almost like she was saying, "Put me down lady!" I picked up Maddie and she let out a little sigh and snuggled into my neck giving me wee little kisses. I told my hubby, "This is Maddie." He thought so too. I almost cried. It sounds silly I know, but it was like we had been searching for her and didn't even know it until we found her. I would try to go see them. Finding your baby is such a wonderful experience. Everyone needs a story about the day thier baby came into their lives. hugs Last edited by MaddiesMommie; 11-08-2009 at 02:13 PM. |

| When we lost our first (female) Yorkie, i knew i wanted another female, we researched breeders, looked at many pups and the breeder we were at last had a girl and a boy, however the boy stole my heart right there on the spot...My hubby told me it just wasn't meant to be for us to have another girl this time, HE WAS RIGHT i can say she was a lover and a leaver and only on her terms....NOT HIM, he loves to love whenever...SHE was lil miss independent...so cute
