| Hi. My 1st Yorkie not only wouldn't go out to potty if it was wet, he never seemed to get used to going in the grass and would potty on the driveway instead. (Was he born a city dweller? Who knows.) I also had to shovel a path through the snow if there was more than a half inch on the ground or he would refuse to even step outside! I never knew if things just looked different out there for him or if it was a icky-texture-on-my-paws sort of thing. Go figure?

| I went through the exact same thing this summer w/Apple...I finally realized it was because the fleas were jumping on her, really bad, in the back yard...There's an easement, behind my house, and they are running cattle on it, so it never gets treated for fleas...On the other hand, the front of the house is in the "neighborhood", and the fleas weren't so bad...Once I treated the back yard (and you have to be very very careful w/what you use, etc. w/these little ones), then she was good to go to the backyard again...This may not be the problem at your house, but it was here...good luck... |

| Teddy is like this, and we carrry him, put him down, and ask him to pee and he does, we trained him to do this, so he has learnt the quicker he pees, the quicker he comes in out of the rain. I hope it goes OK for you.

| I cant help but smile with this thread as it brings back memories of last year .Getting Andy in November and being only 1 pound I to shoveled paths throughout the yard so he could experiance ,run and play in the snow .This summer was a hoot taking him out at night .He would try to catch dew worms before they disappeared into the ground .I was very glad he never caught one ack .

| Hey! Welcome to YorkieTalk! Does your baby wear something outside? Daisy doesn't like to get her belly wet in the grass, so I made her some fleece wraps that cover her whole belly. Makes it easier to wipe her of, too! She has always used pee pads, but this summer has decided to go outside to potty. Can't wait to see how she does in the snow!
