| Will this just make it worse? I understand that Reesie is still a puppy (12 weeks) but I would like to train him to sit with me on the couch to watch TV. He has no interest in doing so right now. I read somewhere that you should make them sit with you by holding them in place until he stops wiggling for a few minutes at a time until he "gets it". Will this work, or will it just make things worse for him to want to sit with me? |

| My problem is that even when he is tired he will not sit with me. He would rather be left in his crate than to sit in my lap and sleep. No matter how tired he is every time I try to hold him, he still wants to play. Do you think I could train him to sit with me once he gets older? If so, how old? Thanks! |

| The longer that you have him the more atttached me will become to you. Just give him time. You can also bribe him with a few treats too IMO--boys seem to be the cuddle bugs--mine are

| Careful what you wish for! My first one, Harley, was the same way, never sat still for the first two years! I, like you wanted him to sit/lay with me, but he just wouldn't. Well, it's been eight years since then, I now have a 14 lb plus lap dog! He's in my lap before my butt touches the couch, and he hogs my bed!

| Try this! At night when I watch t.v., we have "chew stick time". I just put the boys next to me and they enjoy their chewing and I get to cuddle them! They get tired after 30 to 40 minutes...and then they're cuddle-bugs!! |

| My puppy always prefers to sit with me when she can have her 'spot.' I have to lie down and let her curl around my neck with her head on my heart; we call it the puppy scarf! I think the warmth and beat of my heart just say Momma to her.

| Rory always liked her "personal space" so to speak when she was a puppy. She is still active as ever, but I noticed right around 1.5 years she became a total cuddle bunny. She likes to sit in laps now too, which she never did before. I say don't force it - he'll come around in his own time.

| lexi was never a cuddler as a baby, still really isnt except when we are at someone elses house, then shes up my butt and i cant move without her following me or laying by me having to touch me. as they get older, you will see, you wont be able to go to the bathroom alone.

| I can understand how you feel. Buddy was the same way. I wanted to cuddle in the evening and all he wanted to do was look for things to keep me jumping up and down correcting him. Once he got older, he changed and started to settle down. Your puppy is still too young to sit still. Too many things to see and get into. It will happen but not for awhile yet. |

| Kimbo is 5 months old and demands his cuddle time at night. I put his favorite blankie on the couch and he sleeps while we watch tv. I attached a few pics so you can see. I caught him sleeping with his little arms in the air like a zombie. My son had fallen asleep next to him. He wasn't always a cuddle bug. At 12 weeks he was still too busy exploring. Your baby will come around! |
