| New to this site Hello everyone. My husband and I have a chihuahua named Pixie and last week brought home a yorkie baby named Tinkerbelle. Hubby is in the army and will be deploying to Iraq shortly and the pups and I will move back home to Chicago from the army base here in Texas. Anyways. We are loving our new yorkie! She is such a doll. Pottty training sucks though! Any tips? It took nearly a year to potty train our Pixie. The other prob with the yorkie, when hubby leaves for work at 5am he takes the dogs out and then returns them to their crates until I awake. Tink doesnt like this and cries forever! I try and ignore it.. but she goes on forever. If take her out and bring her to bed she plays and I cant sleep! any advice? TIA! |

| Welcome! Yep! That sounds just like a yorkie. I have no tips because I always started mine out in bed. Sorry your husband has to leave. I know that'll be a rough time, but I hope we here at YT can help keep you company and pass some time and perhaps you'll share pictures of both your puppies.

| WELCOME TO YT!!!! I too am sorry to hear that your husband has to go. YT will help with some of your loneliness. It is soooooooo addictive! Just a fair warning, you will make a lot of new friends, find tons of info, and probably gain a few pounds! Time flies when you are trying to keep up with even 5 threads! Good luck with your new puppy! I just got one 4 days ago and BOY IS HE A CRYER!!!!!! I put his crate on a stand near my bed and put my fingers through the door until he is sleeping. It works GREAT!!!! I also cover the crate; if I don't, he doesn't sleep as long. |

| Hello! Welcome!!! Maybe she wants to sleep in bed with you! Most Yorkies do! I bet she ends up there, when your husband is away. Good luck to you! And may your husband stay safe!

| Hi, and welcome to YT. You're going to have fun with two little ones running around. I don't have any advice about the crying. Post some pictures when you get a chance.

| Hello there and welcome! My husband is also in the military. He's a Marine and is deploying to Iraq August 2006. I know how the military life-style goes though. I have a 18 month old Yorkie female named Paprika and a 80lb mutt. Feel free to contact me anytime if you ever need to talk to someone who understands first hand what you're going through.
