Has Anyone Seen "Marley & Me"? Hey, has anyone seen the movie Marley & Me? I rented it from Netflix and it's here, but I'm worried that I'll be depressed for the rest of the weekend, if I watch it! I honestly don't know much about the movie other than the fact that I LOVE Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston & dogs! If the movie "My Dog Skip" did me in...will this movie "do me in" too?! I've done the same thing with Passion of the Christ....bought the DVD, but never watched it out of "fear"/ being a chicken. I'd love to hear your thoughts as we all have one thing in common...OUR LOVE FOR DOGS!! :dogsm6: |
The movie made me ball my eyes out, It has a sad ending!! I don't want to ruin it for you. |
I loved the movie, I cried like a baby at the end, but it was a wonderful movie, it just made me appreciate the animals in my life even more :) |
Maybe I'll watch it all but the last segment??!! Thanks for your input. I've heard great things about the movie and about Owen & Jen being a very realistic couple and it being pretty funny. Maybe I'll just watch it up until it's close to the end and then turn it off?! I'm such a puss when it comes to animals. |
I'll just say it's a very good movie! Worth watching......:animal-pa |
I will never watch it again! Great movie, but it did a major number on me.:( |
It is a great movie and really funny in some parts. I did cry too, but I'm a cry-baby in alot movies though. |
Thanks for you input, I am too! Hey, I really like how you setup your avatar to rotate photos...how did you do that?! :coolsmile Quote:

Thanks guys, for the avatar info link...fun stuff! :cheer: |
It's a very good movie; things that will make you laugh...........and cry. Suffice it to say, it is very true to life. |
I did not see the movie but I did read the book and bawled my eyes out :cry8: But I have to say that it was tears for my lab Abby that brought back so many memories. I loved her so much and she was just a wonderful part of my life for many years. We didn't have a dog for many years after her because I missed her so much and didn't want to open myself up to the hurt of losing another beloved pet. But look at me now! |
Good movie for dog lovers. It makes you appreciate your babies even more. |
I actually watched it on a flight I was on. Both my mom and boyfriend could not watch the end...it was very sad. I looked around the plane and many people had tissues out...including me! It was a well made film and (as luckylady said) very true to life, but it depressed me too much...I could never watch it again. Ashley |
I saw it, and I would not recommend it unless you want to get upset and cry. |
Good movie but horrible ending... so sad |
i agree, great movie, but very sad ending. i cried the last 20 minutes or so. i could will never watch the ending of that movie again. i read the book too and cried as well. |
I cried like a BABY! Good movie though. |
I liked the book more than the movie. The ending is always sad when a dog gets old, but also a part of life. It was a circle-of-life movie. And they didn't just send him to the dog pound for his behavior problems. Go ahead and watch. Just get out the tissue box and enjoy a good cry! |
I love this movie!.. but of course I cried my eyes out lol |
You so need to read the book!!! I actually had to gag myself one night because my husband was sleeping and I was laughing so hard! This is a true story, actually the writter is a Journalist and he often wrote about his dog... over time people were so addicted they wanted all his articles put into a book aka Marley and Me. It does have a sad ending but is also a tribute to all dogs. That we love our dog now because they are here now. Same with our human loved ones. The movie does not do the book justice...as usual! I hope you read and enjoy the journey:thumbup: |
If you watch the movie and you love it than you must read "The Art of Racing In The Rain" by Garth Stein. Enzo will make you look at your dog with new eyes and your heart will expand beyond imagination. Given how much we adore our fur babies I know we never could imagine that could be possible Have a terrific weekend! pam & armani |

it's a good movie some funny parts !! and some you will cry!! |
Good movie, but I'll never watch it again. Brought back way too many memories and I found myself depressed for days. |
I thought it was a real good movie. Unfortunately, I watched it with my teen-age son and he thought I was a little wacko at the end. I cried my eyes out and loudly too. One of those where you can't even catch your breath! I tried so hard not to cry and when I finally did - I couldn't stop. Yep, tissues necessary. I loved it but wouldn't watch it again. I also read Racing in the Rain and it is a great book for dog lovers. |
