| ![]() I could never get away with 75 with how humid south Texas can be in the summer. I'd imagine it's really comfortable in California though with your dry air.

| ![]() Well, I have a 5 1/4 pound Yorkie. If it's chilly in the early a.m., I put on one of Taffy's Velcro jackets or sweaters. When he comes back inside on really chilly mornings, I barely get his leash off when he dashes through the kitchen and snuggles into his fluffy bed in his open dog crate in our den...now, he still has the coat or sweater on! He may also jump onto the folded soft blanket on the rocking chair...he wants that coat or sweater left on until he is warmed back up! I end up turning up the furnace heat when Taffy & I get up, since my hubby likes to keep the thermostat down at night and we use separate, electric bedroom heaters. Taffy has a soft dog bed on my bed, but if he's chilly, he skoots under my blanket and by morning, he is resting his head on the pillow next to mine! Then too, my dog's breeder told me if you are chilly, your dog probably is too...especially the Yorkies who have thin, silky hair. Just put on your slippers without any socks...if your ankles feel chilly from the cooler air that stays against all floors, then your little guy is down there in that cooler air on the cooler floor, too. Taffy loves his sweaters on cool days, of course then, I get to brush his hair to get out any snarls from running around while he's wearing a sweater. Ha! |

| ![]() I have my house set at 72 in the winter AND I have been keeping my little 4 lb guy dressed in something all hours of the day. He's been spending a lot of time in his pj's but I make sure he has a sweater or a sweatshirt on if he doesn't have pjs on...and when we go outside, I definitely bundle him up!! My older guy used to get cold easy...but since he's gained some weight and got older, he no longer gets cold like he did. It could be the meds he's on too...but for some reason, he's stayed fairly warm this year so far. Last edited by theporkieyorkie; 10-30-2013 at 07:18 AM. |

Personally, 75 is way too warm in the summer. 71 seems perfect... In the winter tho it gets so cold! 78 is ok tho with sweaters. Billi has sweaters & blankets, she should be alright.
