| My pup smiles, but doesn't show her teeth. It is so funny to see her smile. I know one thing for sure...she always makes me smile!

| Well, Brooke Lynn is 6.5 months old now, and not doing the submissive grinning thing yet 'though she does show a lot of submissive behavior. I'm trying to reward her confident behavior and ignore the submissive, but that leaves a lot to ignore!!

| Yes, some of them do. Many dogs of all breeds smile.

| Oh yes, my little Maisie smiles, but she only does it when I come ho e from being out. At first I thought it was a growl, since she shows me her teeth. But, no, definitely a happy greeting. Loooove it! |

| I have 4 that smile. They usually do it when they are excited or want your attention. Brownie who was the first to smile has passed it on to many of his pups as they smile too. Trixie my yorkiepoo taught herself to smile and will now smile on command. She was watching Brownie and the others smile and how they got attention for it so she started copying them. From there it was very easy to get her to smile on command. Her daughter smiles as well.

| These are so cute, I can't believe this is such a common thing (well, fairly common). It's weird the dogs do it out of positive emotions, the puppy books I read said you shouldn't even show your teeth when you smile at your dog as it can be misread as aggression, etc. Princess better get on the ball! lol.
