| How often do they need to pee? We're curious, how often do Yorkies need to pee during the day? Ours is 8 months old and between 3-4 lbs. We leave him in the kitchen with a peepad while we're at work. We'd like to train him to go outside only because he keeps missing the peepad and it's gross. (He likes to stand with his back paws on the pad and his front paws on the floor so he misses often.) Is it possible for Yorkies to hold it that long? Or are we stuck with peepads? Another idea is getting a doggie door and letting him let himself out but we live in the mountains and aren't comfortable with the wildlife that could be out there. Thanks. |

| My girls: 6 mos and 3 pounds 2 years and 4 pounds both hold it overnight with no problem. During the day they are out at minimum ever couple hours. But after playtime, lots of drinking, running around, etc.. they go outside. If you are going to be gone 8-9 hours during the day, for your baby's sanity, I would get an x pen and put pee pads down. Theoretically he could hold it that long during the day, but if he has to turn around and hold it that long again over night, that would be hard on his bladder I would think. Good luck and he's a cutie!! |
