| I need your opinions - please!!! I just need your opinions about shaving Rowdy's ears - NOT to get them to stand, I need opinions just for his appearance. Every time I've taken Rowdy to his groomer, I've asked her to do a puppy cut - about 1 inch all over. He looks adorable, BUT the last 2 groomings she has not been shaving his ears. The first time or two I took him, when he was 3-4 months old, she did shave his ears, but the last times she has not. It seems to me that he looks kinda like a bat and I'm thinking that I need to ask her to shave at least the tips of his ears. I've attached a picture with the ears shaved and one with the ears unshaved. Could you all tell me what you think. I'm thinking his ears look too big in the second picture - but maybe I'm crazy (that's likely, and has nothing to do with ears! )

Donating YT 14K Club Member | oh, yes. I would have pointed that out. Last time mine went to the groomers...besides Paula...they did everything I wanted them to do except go around Chester's ears. I marched my happy butt right back in there and they did it immediately. It's too much weight on the ears. After they grow out long, they look BEAUTIFUL but it's a matter on how YOU want them to look. Here's a picture of Paula's dogs with hair long on ears.

| I think he looks adorable both ways. But I know what you mean. Mine seem to look better too with the ears trimmed. |

| How do you shave their ears??? I need to do my pups but I can't remember how you do it. Isn't it supposed to be an inverted V shape about 1/4 inch down??? I can't afford to take mine to the groomers right now (4 dogs) so I'm trying to learn to do it myself. Any tips or detailed instructions???

I think that Paula's dog's ears are cute - but I think I prefer short ear hair or shaved tips. Thanks for posting that picture - it helps!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | We have bat-dog at our house too. Sometimes in between groomings I cut the hair on Trace's ears to avoid that "I'm all ears" look. He looks so much better with the hair trimmed. Rowdy's a cuties, btw

| shaving the ears I think makes a huge difference in the appearance and sometime seems to bring down the size of the ears. Here is a pic of a pup I did awhile back and it makes such a difference. The first is before then after Your little man is adorable and those ears really need to be trimed properly and the feathering will accent the ear not become the dominate
