| STOP humping me already.... My baby Kelsey wont stop her humping! She is comming to the end of her first heat cycle...Her nipples are swollen and so is her privates. This is normal for her to be humping me so much right? I will sit on my couch and be watching my shows and she'll just come up to my arm and start going to town! Will this stop after she gets spayed?

| LOL Sorry for laughing but that sounds funny to me. I'm used to hearing about the boy having the humping problems. I had a female pom and she never tried to hump us. Good luck with that! Hopefully she will stop after being fixed.

| Humping My mother's Female (Gidget) spayed 16 year toy old poodle humped her whole life - God rest her sole. My Buddy (Yorkie/Lhasa mix) only humps the "girls" at his puppy classes, my No. 1 black fluffy golf club head cover and a big fuzzy blue bone at my Mother's. Frankly, some nights, I'm just glad it tires him out! But I am hoping when he gets fixed in November it will cease. |

| Hey, well thankfully moose hasn't done any of that yet...knock on wood. Lil Bear (spayed too) on the other hand does it to the stuffed yorkie we bought her as a puppy. We thought that would have helped when we left her alone but it didn't the only thing that did happen was she tosses it around, gives it kisses and goes to town. I laugh so hard when it happens , but my mom and dad can't stand it so the stuffed yorkie has been delegated to the closet to be let out once in a blue moon.

| I bet it would cut down if she were spayed. Chachi has a stuffed animal he humps. Doe she have a stuffed animal thats big enough she could hump. That might stop her from trying to hump your arm.

| Capone is nuetered and seems like he humped from the day we brought him home, 8 weeks old. He only humps me for some reason. He gets disciplined everytime for it; but he still tries. We pretty much stop it as soon as it starts now. We don't want to encourage him to do this in fear that when we have company over he will have a hump free-for-all with our guest(s).

You might think that this encourages humping in general, and it might at first...but he'll quickly learn that he only gets treats when he humps his hump puppet. And he will also learn the word "friend" means to stop humping. So when a neighbor comes over you can say "Friend!" to your dog in a happy way, and nobody but you knows what you have told him. Treat him for being good, always! However, I wouldn't wory about him humping strangers unless he has started doing this. I suspect that a hump puppet will clear things up nicely for you and that associating treats and commands with it are actually unnecessary yet. | |
