golden baby mooney She is a girl and her name is Mooney. I'm a little dissapointed. If she isn't an AKC standard how did the breeder give me papers? She also wasn't supposed to get over 5 lbs and she is already 6 at 9mo. If she gets over standard size i will be upset. I still love her and she is a good dog, very trainable and this is more important than size, but i expected what i paid for ya know....

Who was the breeder does she/he have a website? Did you see the parents? When something is a living creature there are no guarantee's but ... a reputable/knowledgable breeder would be pretty darn close.

This has me thinking Hmmm...Sydney, who's almost four months, has the blue/black with some golden. She also came with papers that say AKC. Her father is small, but her mother was golden with long legs. The breeder said all of her dogs were pure Yorkies. She also said Sydney will take after her father and only get to about 6 or 7 pounds. She's 3 Lbs. now. Of course, we love her and she is staying with us, but it still makes you wonder after reading Mistyrain's post.

Yes they are AKC papers and I saw both parents. Her dad was abt 4lbs and her mom was abt 5.5 to 6; I knew the breeder and she is usually on point w/ her dogs and assures me that she won't get over 7 but then agian she said wouldnt get over 5lbs too; I got her at 5 mo and she was only 3 to 3.5 then so in four months she got to 6; she hasn't been weighed in a couple months but she looks bigger already and long. I have papers w/ her bloodline and everything. But i don't understand why they chrge more for goldens when they aren't considered a standard. That's wrong. I couldve paid the same price for a smaller yorkie that was black/gold/blue ect... of course i still love my baby and like i said a healthy dog that is smart is more important, but still....u shld be close to what u pay for and not overcharged for somethng that isn't considered a standard. Has anyone known these yorkies to start turning silver/blue as the hair grows longer? Last edited by mistyrain; 09-18-2009 at 07:51 AM.
