Okay, So Bailey has been humping this particular toy since I brought him home when he was just a wee thing

..well he is 22.5 weeks now and last night he was as per usual, humping this toy on my bed like there was no tomorrow and I noticed his little "boy bump" was out!!

Does that mean he has reached sexual maturity already? I thought it happened after 6 months. He is due to get neutered on Oct 7th. I'm am so ignorant about little boys, All my life I have had female dogs.

Griffin humped the " BOBO " from petsmarts . I think because it is long and he could mount it . Since taking it away he has not done it again. He was 3 1/2 mo. at the time.

Andy was neutered at 6 months. Now he is 10.5 years old and he still tries to make his blankie his girlfriend.

Hmmm..I was concerned because his little penis tip was out..it never came out before last night..at least I was never aware of it

I just hope he doesn't start humping everything he sees or marking his territory before his neuter appt.

Jackson started humping when I got him @ 9 weeks old! LOL. Little hornball. He humped a stuffed animal every day basically until he was neutered at almost 7 months of age. I've only seen his "lipstick" as I've seen it called on here twice, once when he was really young still, probably Bailey's age, and then again a week after his neuter (guess all the testosterone wasn't outta his system yet...) He's now 11 months old and rarely humps anything anymore but he does occasionally still.

Well I'm glad Jackson's humping has kept to a minimum after he was neutered. I hope the same thing happens to Bailey..I don't like it when his "lipstick" comes out!

thank God for girls

this "lipstick" thing is one of the reasons i chose a female for my first yorkie experience and that whole humping thing too...

hope she never tried that for a dominance thing.

Hey, I've known four female dogs in my life who hump! Don't rule it out yet!

I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but my Murphy was neutered right at 6 months and is now a year & a half old. Just last week I caught him with his 'special' toy and his lipstick was way out there!

My Kingston humps his little teddy bear all the time! I got him fixed when he was around 5-6 months and he still humps like crazy. He will only hump his teddy bear, which is a relief. If I want him to stop humping, I'll just take it away.

Goodness, I have a two year old, three legged poodle that humps her bo bo daily! It is her constant companion! I think she does this because she cannot dominate the other dogs. Actually, is is funny and sad at the same time. Funny she is still humping Bo Bo and sad because she lost her front leg and without it she keeps losing her balance. But, that doesn't keep her from trying!
