| My 18mo. rescue was just neutered....HELP! Hi Everybody! It's been about a week since my family has been pre-approved for a Yorkie at local rescue...we couldn't have been more happy!!! In case you noticed the days flying past it's because we've been praying earnestly for Saturday to come so we can meet 'Ward' soon to be MJ or Scooby!!! He is a teapot at 11lbs-LOVE IT! I just found out the rescue got him from the shelter and they believe he and his 'family' came in after a backyard breeder bust so they are not certain of his age or medical history. He was neutered and they did that -as a responsible rescue-THANK YOU! And they are basing his age on his teeth, she says that he is also not housebroken...I'm just concerned about his natural urge to mark has set in and him just being recently neutered-WHAT TO EXPECT ...YT family any advice or shared experiences will be greatly appreciated! I pray that he loves us and we are a match tomorrow chynnababy |

| I would suggest getting some belly bands. I have an un-altered boy and they work great for me.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Well, Nolee quit marking after he was neutered. He will only mark when another male dog is around. This is a typical behavior for male dogs. Hope this helps a little. Congrats!!!

| Congratulations to you and your family on rescuing a Yorkie. I would use belly bands and work hard on potty training him. You will love his size. The big ones are just as loving as the little ones. At times you'll laugh at all the attention your big boy will want from you. Good luck and welcome to YT |

| There are places on here where you can order the belly bands. They are basically a piece of material you can atach a pad to that goes around their middle. They are good to have around while you are working on potty training. I have just started feeding my dogs Natual Balance and so far they like it. Graze thru this site, you will find more information than you ever thought possible about yorkies, food, clothes, everything. |

| Belly bands are wonderful inventions. They are pieces of fleece material that goes close to the body, and cotton or other material that has designs that show. They have velcro on them so that you can fasten then snug around their body. You put a panty liner in so that it absorbs the urine.
