| Advice----ONE or TWO? I need sincere no nonsense advice for me and Mr. Darcy. He and I have been alone together since January 2009 when McKennitt died. I've had Mr. Darcy since October 2008. He just turned one, is neutered, pad (inside potty) trained and a sweet companion. I contemplate getting a second Yorkie for several reasons. Dogs are pack animals and desire dog companionship. I'm home as a semi retired writer so time and training isn't an issue. The extra expense, care and effort is not a problem. My concern is that Mr. Darcy will feel upstaged. Is this often the case? I suppose a younger pup is the smart way to go. (?) Is another male OK? I've read letters from those of you saying one dog is just fine. I've read letters saying......the more the merrier......which for us would only be one more. I'd likely depend upon those dedicated to Y.T. to find a pup, and/or connect with Yorkie Passion north of us in Portland Oregon. I seriously contemplate such decisions, as welcoming another living creature into our lives is a very important choice. I'd appreciate feedback from parents of one and from those who decided that another Yorkie made sense in their lives. Thanks so much from Mr. Darcy and mum or

| I can tell you from my exp I love just having one, but I am different and I think my yorkie Peanut is different as well.. I have Peanut since he was about 14 weeks and we are very close. He isn't psycho over me, but he is VERY ATTACHED. He wants 110% of my attention at all times, I have had 2 other yorkies one a male and the other a female, it didn't work out for me. He loved having another one to play with, but he hated not going everywhere with me..so I know that having just him is what works..It might be a lot different at your house, but I will say this if you take Darcy everywhere with you and he is your one and only it might be hard. I am not willing to share my love either..I want to give all my love to Peanut thats another reason why I can only have him =) I think the best thing for you to do is think about yourself and think about Darcy. Can you share your love with another yorkie? Will Darcy mind sharing you? You will mostly hear all the great things on having 2 or more yorkies, but I just wanted to share my story to show you some yorkies ( not many) just like to be the one and olny!!

| Having 6 myself, I wouldn't have it any other way! It is so cute to see them play together, as well as love one another. They keep each other company, and it isn't hard to love all of them. My Tucker is a "keep to himself guy", he likes lovin only on his time. They are all so different, I can't imagine not having all of them!

| Well if it were up to me, I would have 3 or more Yorkies, but I only have 2 at the moment...My dh won't allow me to get another yet, but he said maybe someday Anyways...I would do what feels best for you. If you really think you could benefit from another Yorkie, I would start the search! If you think it would be better just the two of you, I would say that just one is enough. You could always start looking at litters, and take your baby with you, to see how he would react around another puppy. We took Joey with us when we were looking for another, and there wasn't one breeder that didn't welcome him in to their home. If there's a puppy that just seems to jump out at you "take me home!" or you feel there's a special connection with, I would suggest trying it out. Good luck in your difficult decision!

| Miley and I were the only one for 2 years and yes we were very happy , She flew with me to NY, Florida a few times, and than a friend had a male yorkie Max, and he was going to some hard time, and needed to rehome Max. Ask me if I would take him since he knew us , well I said yes and Miley was not happy for a while it took her a few weeks and after 1 year she still fight for my lap and wants me to carry her around the house and back yard , like I always did. Well , I just read about a yorkie needing a forever home, and sure enough I just came home with one more yesterday ! And again Miley is not to happy , but Max is so excited and jumping all over the place, today is a better day, at least Miley came out from under the cover and is eating and walking around the house with one eye on me and one on our new family member Lol !! We have enough love for all , and I'm sure we will all be happy together, but Miley will always be my special girl. Bark@ulater!!!! manina, miley, max |

| My sincere, no nonsense advice..... if you have the means to take care of them, and the time to devote to them, by all means, bring another into your family. You won't regret it. Even though your baby is very attached to you, you'll be amazed at how having two brings happiness to them both, and to you. They will still be attached to YOU, but will have the company and companionship of each other as well.
