There is not a reason that everybody should play nice. We are all adults here! I love it here and hate to see someone attacking someone else. |
Bumping this thread up - needs to be read and "absorbed":) |
Thought this needed bumping up again:) |
Agree! |
Fortuitous timing, I'm sure. ;) |
Great post! I agree wholeheartedly and as a newbie myself I really enjoyed seeing it. Not only does it apply here but in life in general! :) |
 Just read this! |
Believe me, I am a Newby in the Ring surrounded by people who have been showing 10 plus years. Call me H*U*M*B*L*E* |

Thank you for the great thread. It's good to get the air cleared and then see everyone be so positive! |
I am also one of the "newbies" (yorkie owner for 2 whole months!!) and I have noticed some of these comments. Kind of makes you a little nervous to ask a question. While some comments are downright rude others come down pretty hard. All in all, I have had good experiences (here is where I found my breeder, after all) and continue to find answers to my questions. Will keep checking out posts everyday. Mom to Shadow |
First of all, let me say, there is no excuse for a seasoned member coming down on a newbie asking a question. We were all newbies at one time or another. The thing I have a problem with is when anyone complains about a seasoned member coming down on a newbie that is causing problems, baiting us, and/or ignoring sound advice without responding to it. If you post a question or problem, know that we all care about your dog and want only the best for him or her. When you act in the manor described above you turn us off and make us wonder how well you are treating your little one and how well you can comprehend his or her problem. If I tick any of you off I would appreciate a PM telling me so along with an explanation of your own feelings. My last comment is aimed at those who attack.......try a little kindness before you go wild. I admit to going off on a member from time to time and am trying hard to keep out of all the bickering I read but it isn't easy seeing my friends giving good sound advice and then being called names in return for their kindness. |
See...another great reason I love this forum. :D Debra...you should see about changing your name to WiseSageDebra. ;) |

Debra is absolutely right. Us Newbies should respect the seasoned users on YT. I come here for advice and to meet other Yorkie owners. There are alot of good people here....and I love it! As other people on here, I have been chatised for postings but I always look at the responses and don't take offense to them because it is their opinions and usually I realize well that is a better way to do it or I should have said this instead of that just like above. If you can't take criticism, a forum is probably not where you need to be especially when your asking for advice or can't handle someone's opinion. Sorry to be blunt, but thats just me. As said above, if you have a problem with me or anyone else, I'm sure they would rather get a PM with your opinion instead of degrading them in the post...i know I would. |
Well...that was some post and quite the interesting thread! Words to live by, not only as pet parents, but as human beings. I particular liked Debra's comment about tearing others down. True strength comes from applauding the talents and knowledge of others. It NEVER detracts from one's own value to recognize the value of others. It enriches our lives and helps us to grow while fostering tolerance. While I am oblivious to the specific dramas referred to (I am on YT in spurts due to my schedule) I gladly admit how much I have to learn and how grateful I am for those that provide such invaluable knowledge. |

So I have got to where I always ask...you really want to know my opinion... :D |

Your absolutely correct and we should NOT put people down or attack their character when we don't know them either. You should always respect everyone's opinion cause that is what it is is their opinion. |

Bump. |
Love it :yorkieg: |
Thanks. Had not seen this! |
I just want to say that I have been on this forum for about 4 weeks or so and without the knowledge and wisdom of some of its members I would be in a mess. I have had so much help and advice that it is amazing. I now have 5 healthy 19 day old puppies that were so unexpected (got their mom 6 weeks ago and did not know she was pregnant)! And now I am trying to figure out how to take care of these very active little pups. So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone that shares their knowledge on a daily sometimes hourly basis to those of us that want to provide the best of care to our babies but don't always know how to do that. Again THANK YOU!!!!! |
great post |
