| Help!! Pooping on himself Hey Everyone, Ever since I brought Miso home I noticed his tail was a lot shorter than most yorkies and rottweilers, it's not much of a tail, feels more like just skin, but I don't tell him that. :P Anyway, I think his tail is more of a butt plug if anything, it's preventing the poop to not come out all the way, instead it gets stuck to his behind and he jumps on the sofa, carpet, bed and smears it everywhere :[ I was wondering if there is possibly anything I can do to make his poo-ing experience easier and less time consuming for me and my family to clean up everything his butt comes into contact with? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time ;]- Kim Last edited by KIMypooo; 09-02-2009 at 06:49 PM. |

| If he has dingle berries, that's what I call them. The hair needs to be shaved. Under the tail "stub" and down the back side. This way the poop doesn't get caught. Sometimes you also have to wipe the butt, just like a baby. If he is young, it should correct itself eventually. But may still need the hair cut.

dingle berries. lololol I would say shave his butt and stubby so that theres no hair for the poop to stick too. That is what I do with my yorkies bottom, I don't ever have a prob with the poop getting stuck. My mom doesn't shave her's and her yorkie always has dingle berries hehe | |

| Dingle berries. What can I say!!! That's what I always told Buddy when he got "embarrassed"!!!!! But if he is young it could be the sphincter muscle. Eventually it should correct it self.

| I definitely agree with the shaving. I do it with my boys, and I'm sure it saves quite a bit of time and trouble with butt (excuse me, bottom if that's what you prefer) washing. Joey and Tank really aren't fans of it, but hey, if someone was trying to shave your behind, would you sit perfectly still?

| Genghis only gets "Klingons" when he has soft poopie. That is when I have to wipe his butt and it's very stinky. If he just eats his food and doesn't find anything else to eat his poopie is pretty hard and doesn't stick. We try to keep him only on his doggy food. We now feed him small dog wellness. |

| We shave and trim their whole booty area to avoid the dingleberry situation. I also leave a container of wipes by the door so when we come back in I can clean them if they need it.

| Thanks for all the responses! it makes me feel much better that I'm not the only one dealing w dingleberries LOl! My other 2 dogs never had this problem, so I assumed it was his tail acting as a butt plug. I will be sure to call a groomer and have them groomer him and trim his butt fur, I hope it works. |
