| Welcome to YT! Derby is definitly a cutie and he looks a yorkie to me. His ears may or may not go up, it happens alot. You could try to tape his ears and see if that will help them go up. Regardless he looks like a sweetheart |

| In no way do I mean this in a bad way so please do not take this personal. I think that he is definately all yorkie but I think that his haircut is what is confusing people. His haircut is not the typical yorkie style and since you cut all of the hair off his face, it kind of makes him look like a mixed breed. I have 4 yorkies until bath day when they get wet and turn into chihuahua's...then their flufffy hair dries and they are yorkies again. He is definately precious and appears to be a well loved, happy and soon very spoiled little boy so I wouldn't worry about what other people say.. I guarantee that if you let the hair on his head and snout grow out, you will see a completely different dog..Also, not to make it seem like you are an idiot, but I met a woman at petsmart one day with her yorkie that was completely shaved down. I couldn't tell it was a yorkie and when she approached me to see my babies, she asked about their hair and she told me that hers was a yorkie but she shaves her to keep her from shedding all over her house.. I was like well Yorkies do not shed and I actually let her rub on mine to see that their hair does not come off. She was shocked and a little upset that she had been shaving her 4 yr old yorkie since she got her and had to explain to everyone she met that she actually was a yorkie.. My point is, I think he is precious, he is all yorkie, but his haircut is confusing people...Either way, he is your baby not theirs so you can cut his hair any way you want or even put him in dresses...lol... he is definately all Yorkie!!!! |

| He is very cute. Try massaging his ears that sometime helps them stand. |

| A lot of people don't realize that Yorkies can differ greatly in looks/size/colouring. They have a picture in their head of what a Yorkie "should" look like and they think that all Yorkies look like that. I met a lady who was talking about her neighbor who had 3 Yorkies that all looked completely different. She seemed really suprised/shocked and didn't understand why the Yorkies didn't all look the same. If you look at dogs like German Sheppards or Labs/Retreivers, they generally all have the same look and don't vary very much. A lot of people think that Yorkies are like that, too. People who don't think your baby is a Yorkie, are people who clearly don't know anything about them. Yet, ironically enough, they probably act like they know more than you do

| Welcome to YT! Derby looks like a Yorkie to me. Teresa told you how to do the ears. Check out YT General Discussions for the how to guide for all of the grooming. Most of the babies really slow down the weight gain around 6 months. Does it really matter how big he gets? Just more to love!

| Hi there, and Welcome to YT Little Derby is adorable. He looks 100% yorkie puppy to me . Many yorkie pups have floppy ears. Especially during the teething stage. Sometimes, one ear will go up , and the other ear will stays down. my female Yorkie , as a little puppy always had floppy ears. Until she had her first grooming apt. The groomer shaved 2/3 of the outter ear hair, and also any hair growing inside the ear canal , he plucked out. Becasue the hair keeps growing inside the ear. groomers use ear powder to do this, I have not ever tried to do it on my own. Also around the edges of the ear , he clipped the hair too. When I picked Suzi up, her ears were standing completely straight up She has not ever had a problem since.
