I highly recommend the belly bands. I have a male that loves to mark when my girls are in season. He also dribbles when he's excited. I think that they are the greatest invention. I bought 5 of them so that I could have my stuff protected.

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: if someone cant understand a dog going to a new home needs a lot of time and patience, never mind going through an op, and is willing to get rid, then really should not have a dog.

I just wanted to say this.

If you have trouble finding belly bands, buy a bag of size 1 baby diapers and wrap them around his middle. They work great, are easy to find, are disposable and fairly cheap to use until you can get belly bands.

I used them for a male I was fostering until I could make belly bands small enough to fit him.

I am glad you are willing to work with him on it.

He just needs your patience, some time, love and retraining and he will do just fine.

Your not alone. It is pretty common for male yorkies that just got neutered to act up. Their hormones are so messed up, it takes it awhile for it all to straighten out.
If you do a search you will find several posts about males relapsing in their potty training shortly after being neutered.
They just need some retraining and time for all their hormones to level out.

Dee -- thank you so much for clarifying this! I think it was all in the timing. Your post said exactly what you meant. It has just been one of those weeks with lots of facitious things said by many and I had to ask (glad I pm'd you!). You were a great sport for clearing it up and not getting aggravated with either of us! I am sure we will learn to be less suspicious as things cool down. Must be the heat of summer's end getting to us. ;) Actually it is cooling off here in Florida, believe it or not. I mowed the grass today and barely worked up a sweat!

If he is urinating, & not marking, has a urinary tract infection been ruled out?

Please don't give up on him. I recently went on vacation for two weeks, and left my four with my two grown up kids. I came home to the most horrible stench and poop marks all over my carpet. It seems the kids changed the dogs food while I was gone, and it made them sick. It took a little while, but I got them back on track. Just take it one day at a time, and you'll both be fine.

I want to thank all of you who gave me advise. Thing are the same so I got him belly bands and I had the overnight to me so tomorrow will be a new day. Coach sends everyone lots of love and nose kisses:aimeeyork

He is three years old so he had three years with his boy parts and then to have him neutered at three when he has so much testosterone and hormones in him from having his boy parts for that long. then to have im neutered his hormones are going crazy give him a chance to adjust. his body is going through stuff just like you would if you had a hysterectomy your hormones would be off and you would be going crazy too.you need to give him some time for his body to adjusts to the hormone change. that's all

I took an old Ace Bandage that had velcro on it, cut to length and stuck an obsorbant pad inside. My Peanut is so little even the xx-small diaper pants are too big! I think I read on YT that someone used an old sock with the toes cut out.

If it were my Zander, the moment he comes to tinkle on me, I would say NO, no, immediately take him outside, point to the grass and tell him to go pipi, have treats in your pocket, if he finishes outside give him a treat, it can be a cheerio or a small piece of his favorite treat. He's probably marking you as his, or showing that he believes he's dominant over you. You need to work on training him that it's inappropriate to do that, not rehome him. Dang, if I put my dogs up for adoption every time they did something like that, I wouldn't have my dogs about 100 fold...you need to think a little more before you decide to get rid of your baby - dogs aren't disposable, and when you get one, you should be making a lifetime commitment. Joey and Tank are with me till the day they die.

Be sure to use a cleaner for urine that contains enzymes, the enzymes will gobble up any leftover urine residue that may entice him to leave his mark.
