| I sit on the stairs in front of them- I help them move down the stairs step by step sitting in front of them and praising them and petting - Then the last three stairs I get up and let them do it- they usually will do the last three by themselves- I only have to do this routine once or twice- Good Luck! |

| My girls are 3 and 4 years old and neither one will go down stairs. We live in a tri-level with a solid oak staircase (only 5 stairs). When they were both pups, they learned to go up before going down. But, they did both learn to go down eventually. The problem is they both fell down the stairs and once that happened, they would not go down them again. I actually like them not going down as I know where they are all the time!!!!

| Just curious, are you still asking all these questions because you're writing a book? If so, don't you think it would be more professional to tell the posters this is what you're doing? It seems a little underhanded to me the way you're going about this.

| Really-if that's true, I agree. If so, the OP better have lots of pages for credits. |

| DO you want the world to know if so lets hear it!! Check her posts from this thread...sure sounds from all the questions like she's still looking for material. I just think it's wrong to do that without being honest about it.
