Floppy Ears! I don't know what to do. Now both of Ruby's ears are down. I never had this problems before. They were just fine from the first time I taped them, which was like to weeks afters I adopted her, and this weeks first one went floppy then the other. I don't want to retape them again. I am love her to pieces regardless but I really don't like floppy ears. What am I going to do . I just hope they come up on their own now and if they don't I will take her to the vet and have them do it for me. I really want her previous look back.

How old is Ruby? Sometimes when they are teething the ears flop. Hopefully her ears will pop uo again. You can massage them, i heard it can help. Good luck.

I like the prick ears and have not had a problem but when I am concerned about the ears I just go ahead and tape them. There are sites that give really good instructions... I have had them flop for a while when they are several months old but I clipper them and they come right back up.

My female Yorkie seems to have larger ears which flop when she has a lot of growth around them. After grooming they stand right up again. She's cute both ways. The male's ears don't do this....maybe he has slightly less hair? Last edited by lreed; 09-24-2005 at 10:03 PM. Reason: misspelling

floppy ears. it looked to me today like Ceeby's left ear was dropping a little. The right one is the one the breeder shaved and taped for me. It was about half up and the left was all the way up. it doesn't look like his left ear has been shaved. My question is, when you shave and tape, how long do you leave the tape on? Is it hours or days . I have seen a lot of post on this but never the amount of time to leave the tape on.

Desi will be 10 months on Oct. 2nd and I've been taping her ears since she was 12 weeks old. I taped the ears, left it in for a week, they stood up then after a week or so down they would go again. Its been like this on and off. FINALLY, one ear is complete up and has been for months now, but the other ear looks like it wants to go up but needs help.. so, its taped, let see.
