Don't beat yourself up, it may turn out just fine. Think of it this way, you rescued a puppy from a puppymill, how lucky for the puppy. We've all been down that route, even reputable breeders. Hey! I bought a yorkie from the flea market and I knew better. We all learn.

Great post, I think many people overlook this factor when choosing a breeder, but I feel a lot more confident about Joey and his care, knowing that his breeder continues to be in his life.

I want to have complete contact with my families....One of the last things I tell them as they walk out the door and as I'm crying, I want pictures and lots of e-mails, and call me as soon as you get home. It's in my contracts that my pups have free boarding and grooming for the rest of their lives...

I've been looking for a home for brinkli for about 2 months now (I've lost track so it might be more or less). And I've come across a lot of people who are offended by my asking questions about my baby's future forever home. Hmm ... WEIRD! I have yet to find his perfect home. So man people are concerned about the price, if they really wanted him and communicated with me more than once, they'd learn I am not expecting my original asking price (actually I even say that)! He might just end up being Nana's baby. I have not come across his PERFECT home.

I did notice, that some of their breeders may care about their pups. If you look at them some are sold with LIMITED REGISTRATION and no ugrade option so that is at least something to say maybe their breeder cared for the pup and it's future. Some are also AKC Champion Lines.. which I know doesn't mean much but when they are Champion lines coupled with LIMITED REGISTRATION, one has to wonder where the pups are coming from... I know I am.

Most puppymillers sell anything to anyone with FULL REGISTRATION. It's just sad how there are SOOOO MANY FOR SALE.. :(

ok guys heres the update i just got off the phone with Florida animal law,usda
animal care and both places checked the company for complaints, registered animal mill neither places had any complaints nor found the company in the deta base for dog mills so as far as USDA stated the companys been in business for more then years and they have had no complaints and is legit and a big company that deals with private breeders in the state of massachusetss, united states.. they also said when i get my papers the dog will have the breeders info on it so i feel better knowing this company has no complaints or registerd at a dog mill..however when i get my baby boy i will have him check over and i will be getting my next puppy from this site from a breeder

Correct me if i'm wrong here but doesn't a breeder that has been breeding for years..knows their lines well..studies their line...it was my impression that they knew what type of dogs that certan line produced including size..frame...ect..with the excoeption of a pup here and there that strayed from that..u know the one that comes out of nowhere..

I wish I would of bought my pup from a breeder like you. I'd love to of had a breeder that would enjoy pics and hearing how miley is doing..instead mine took my money and hasn't turned back since..
I'm like star..the next puppy I get from will be someone that cares about the pup and the pups health..

Miss Star, I will not ruin your enjoyment of getting this puppy. I am a breeder and have small pups, healthy ones thank goodness. I agree small ones are different, but they all do not become sick. Many can you must watch them closer. When I say thank goodness, I mean healthy pups to me are what we all should breed for. However, I know of show breeders with shunt puppies but they will not talk about this in general public. Your have purchased from a broker as others have said. Probably paid more for your puppy then I would sell a pup for with a champion sire and grandsire. So what everybody was telling you is so true, learn and make good decissions on your next one, but....... love this puppy as it is not his fault that some people do not care about how they breed. The joy it will bring you is more then you will every expect. Yorkies are my love of my life.

Lessons learned.....we all have made mistakes (not the purchase of your Miley, cause I know you love your baby to bits) but, how to go about picking your breeder.

Always remember you buy your breeder first, you must feel totally comfortable with them. You are not only buying a dog, but a relationship.

Some breeders, yes, usually those that line breed to set type. Others are breeding to full fill a pet market and do not line breed. However, even the best of breeders will not guarantee size.

I love that you have free boarding and grooming for life. It shows that you truly care about the well being of all your pups. You sound like a wonderful breeder. :thumbup:
