Never chance guessing size. My little Gemma came from a 7 pound Daddy and a 9 pound Mommy. Jemma is 4 pounds yet her littermate sister is 8.5 pounds. Sooooooo |
I really hope it all works out. As someone else said, your puppy may be fine. Let's pray for that. Now you know better. I am actually wondering a bit about my breeder now because everyone says a "reputable" one won't let a puppy go until they are 12 weeks and I got Cooper at 8wks. I went to the breeders home and saw her dogs and everything was VERY clean and the dogs looked great!! She never mentioned the word toy or miniature and none of the parents were very small. I would say all were at least 5lbs. She even suggested I get a bigger one because I also have a 45 lb Beagle. But...she did let me take him at 8wks, so now I am wondering. |

Yup yup :thumbup: what she said. May I add ... NO REPUTABLE breeder will guarantee weight ... period the end. They can guess all the live long day. And can tell you the weights of older/previous litters. I also agree on the 5-6month old idea. I've seen 12 weekers weigh the same and end up at completely different weights as adults. Be careful! Smaller is not better. Look for healthy!!! :D Good luck on your future princess! |

The only thing a reputable breeder can guarantee is the health of the puppy, but even that isn't 100%, it's a crap shoot.....What you hope for is a breeder that stands behind her pups and is there for you should you need them. |
