Senior Yorkie Talker | Extremely Hyper Puppy Hi, Colt will be 13 weeks old this week and is smart as a wiz. I also have a 2 year old Matlese. I originally got Colt for a playmate for Cody because Cody has separation anxiety really bad when it comes to me. Cody is still very playful as well. My problem is Colt is the most hyper puppy I have ever seen. Seriously. He only weighs about 1 lb but a brave and I mean brave little thing. He keeps me going 24/7 nonstop. Cody is a great big brother and plays a lot with him and even now shares his toys (Well Colt takes them and Cody lets him) But he is always on the run, getting into everything, eating everything and he does not sit still a minute. He even wears Cody out. When you just try to hold him to give him lovins, he wiggles and wiggles wanting down. He does not want to be held. Just play, play, play. I got a pen which is really good size that I sit in my front room and put his bed and lots of toys in there for him but when I do that, all he does is bark and whine. But this is every day, all day long. Any suggestions on calming him down just a little? I love his playfuless but Mommy is really tired...lol Thanks! |

| mine was super hyper as a pup too. i handled it by taking him for long walks and extended trips in the yard for playtime. it would make him calmer in the house.

| OMG , Colt seems a lot like My puppy , Miely ! She is 3 1/2 months , and a shih tzu . The same way as your boy , just full of it all the time! My Yorkie , Suzi plays with her all the time, and right now, the are um, fighting over a pair of painties, although they have a ton of toys , Miely is a underwear thief. Suzi was very hyperactive as a young puppy too, and still has her moments ! She is still only 18 months . They have so much energy , I too have to wait unitl all the vaccinations are completed so they both can go outside and play. I understand what your going through.

She's always hyper as well, she runs around the house back and forth and chases her tail in circles and goes bonkers...she does A LOT better with some extended outside play time where she chases her daddy all over the yard. | |
