| False Pregnancy... Have any of you had your yorkie have a false pregnancy after their heat cycle? Every single heat cycle my oldest girl (almost 3 yrs) has been through she has had a false pregnancy follow. I have not asked the vet about this. She is going through one right now. This one seems to be worse than the previous ones. Is this something I should worry about? Should I schedule a vet check up because of it? She is my pet and I do not breed so she has never had babies. I am planning on having her fixed before her next cycle but very curious if other female yorkie mommies have experienced this and if maybe you can tell me why. Is it something I should worry about? I KNOW she is not pregnant, that is not even in question. Just a general health question...

| I had a mini-dachshund who did that, after every heat...It was very sad, because she wouldn't come out of my closet for days...She'd take all her toys, keep building and re-building her "nest"...I finally had her spayed, and this, of course, stopped it...I don't think there is anything you can do about it, but wait 'till it's over (could take a few weeks)...Also, I think (check on here w/some of the more informed people), but you should wait to have her spayed a few months after her heat, so she will bleed less, during surgery...Sorry your baby is going through this...It used to break my heart, when Tinker-Bell did this... |

| Lori Bella's Aunt Ceci had a false pregency when Angel was pregent. My vet said it would continue to happen as long as she was not spayed and there was a male dog in the house. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Roxie had one after her first heat. She went into heat right before her scheduled surgey. As soon as I could I had her spayed. Her heat and false pregnancy were not fun for her. I don't know why either.
