Michael Vick Just read that the Eagles have hired Michael Vick to play for them. I hope they lose every single game, and that the half time show will be a bunch of pit bulls let loose on the field whrere they can chase him down. I really go nuts when people take part in Dog Fighting, and then the killing of so many innocent dogs. I may have a bunch of Eagles fans who get mad at me, but I don't care. They've hired a sub-human. He certainly didn't need the money. He just enjoyed the vicious bloodshed and abject cruelty. Sorry. Just had to blow off steam. Tucker's Mom |
I try not to be negative here on YT, but when I read that Michael Vik signed a contract to play football I got sick. Why should a person who did what he did be allowed to return to a job that people, especially kids look up to as a role model. I'm just sick and like you I hope that they lose every single game. I'm not going to watch them even if they play against my home team. |
I emailed the Eagles and told them what I thought of them signing him. I think everyone should let them know their oppinion! |
He should have to pay a certain percentage of his pay to an organization that helps fight against dog fighting--or some other type of animal cruelty organization, that way every paycheck, he gets a reminder of what he did. I, too, was saddenned to see the Eagle's picked him up--but I am an Eastern PA girl, so go Eagles!!!!! |

Its pretty disgusting that anyone would sign him on...just because he spend a little time working in a animal shelter, doesnt mean he is remorseful for what he did. He knew what he did was evil, but he did it anyway. Makes me sick!! I guess that petition we signed got overlooked!:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown |
I dont think youre being fair I despise all animal crueltyu but he went to jail and paid a fine he should be given a second chance the main reason people go back to jail is they cannot get a job and yes the law says you cant discrimanate but the truth is we do we have to give people the benifit of the doubt or keep building prisons. PS I dont like the man but he has the right to earn a living. |
I'm torn on this one because I can't stand the thought of what he did, and thought his punishment was too lite, but he did serve his time. As Manina said how many dogs were stolen from their loving homes and killed because of what he did. It's my biggest fear that someone will steal my great pyrenees for such a thing just because of his size. So I watch him like a hawk stalking a mouse when he's outside. I hoped and prayed that he'd get more jail time but he didn't. And I didn't want to see him get picked for another football team where he can become some kid's hero. I hoped he'd have to work that construction job for a few years and stay out of trouble before some team signed him. But to the football league it's all about the money and will he bring fans to their teams. Well, he will bring protesters for sure. Which is still free publicity to them, so they don't care. It's all about the $$$$$. So sickening to know that's what matters most. Not the truth, not honor, not integrity, not their responsibility to teach our youth how to become a great upstanding citizen. They teach them to take what they can and demand more for less. But he did pay what our justice system demanded of him. We can't expect him to go out and imprison himself. We can hope and pray that he tries to do what is right, but will he? I think we should demand harsher punishment for persons who abuse animals. Just like people who view child porn, it doesn't take long until these sicko's are acting out. One thing's for sure, we'll be watching if he does mess up!!! |

Not only emailled the team but also the sponcers. I will not be purchasing products from a company that supports this team. I will NEVER buy aquafina (pepsi) or j&j snackfoods (J & J SNACK FOODS) as long as they sponcer a team that supports a killer like Michael Vick. good thing I dont really like soda or junkfood :P |
Michael Vick I try not to be negative on YT either, but this really got to me. Yes, he did his light sentence because he had to. But do you really think it changed his heart? He's a vicious, cruel man. I am a former school teacher. You have read, I'm sure, that all child molesters, and killers, at sometime in their youth, exercised some act of violence against animals. I once had a child in sixth grade. He had a cherubic face, curly hair, ahd big blue eyes. I did everything I could for him, to no avail. When he was in Jr High, I found out he had poured gasoline on a puppy, and set it on fire. The poor little thing died, of course, after suffering agonizing pain. The kid is in his early twenties. I found out last year that he murdered his father in cold blood. I hate to be so blunt. However, when a grown man, with all the money in the world, is so cruel toward animals, the instinct to continue doing the same thing is just in him. It's a huge character defect that only a real miracle can cure. I don't think Michael Vick has had his miracle. He just wants to play ball, and earn money again. Again, I hate to sound like this, and to start a huge controversy, but my blood just boils when I think about it. ps How can I e mail the Eagles? Tucker's Mom |

OMG this just made me sick to my stomach. That poor puppy.. Honestly, I think Vick will lay low for a while and he probably wont do anything directly with animals anymore, he will move on to people next, mark my words |
Michael Vick Me again. Just wanted to add something. My husband, a retired physician, just walked in and read this thread. He said there are three signs of a serial killer: bed weting, starting fires., and cruelty to animals. Vick is lucky to have a talent for football. Otherwise, we don't know what else he would have been doing. I don't like arguments, but there are three things that really set me off: cruelty to children; cruelty to the elderly; cruelty to animals. They are the innocent ones who can't protect themselves., |

Im with you! I'm in Delaware and we all cheer on for the philly teams, and im not so big on football, but even more so i will not support the eagles for them signing him on! its JUST WRONG!:mad: |
I totally was disgusted when I heard he was being signed by the Eagles. I admit that I used to be an Eagles fan but no more. He made a choice to be cruel to animals so there is no reasonable explanation for him getting a second chance. If you ask me his punishment didn't even come close to what he deserved for promoting the killing of innocent dogs in such a cruel and inhumane manner. |
My hubby is a HUGE eagles fan ,our fur babies all have eagles jerseys and cheerleader outfits and don them once football season start. Needless to say they will not be wearing them and I will not be watching the games. |
Wow, I actually got a reply... Dear Jessica, Thank you for contacting Pepsi-Cola Company. We certainly appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with us. As you may know, Pepsi does not have a relationship with Michael Vick. In fact, we have never worked with this individual. However, we do agree with the NFL that Michael Vick’s illegal activities, for which he was convicted in 2007, were cruel and degrading. The NFL has said that Mr. Vick has been reinstated to the league on a conditional basis and will be considered for full reinstatement in October based on the progress he makes in his transition plan. As sponsors of the NFL, we have the utmost confidence that the senior leadership at the NFL will continue to appropriately address this issue. Once again, many thanks for contacting us and please be assured that your comments have been shared with the appropriate individuals within the Company. Wow!!!! They must have had this elevator speech prepared because they knew they would be getting a ton of hate mail, esp from PETA members! lol Good for you! |
Ok....don't be hatin for what I'm going to say - its just something to think about. what he did was inhumane - totally cruel & sick ...but....step back and think about this - REAL animal abusers get a thrill from pain and torture. The kind of animal abusers that grow up to be killers and such. Vick was running what I think 'in his mind' was a business - one for greed yes - one that is cruel and sick yes - but...I dont think he was a thrill abuser getting his rocks off by hurting animals I think some people have a different mindset when it comes to 'fighting' various animals. They see it as sport and it's about the money ....all the way. I think Vick is one of those people. Again - what he did was despicable and I am very against him playing football BUT - look at it this way - its a done deal. He's going to play. MAYBE him back playing football will keep focus on all those who are STILL fighting dogs....it's going to be brought up constantly. He did go to prison for this - which is way more than lots of those people get. Never before has the dog fighting sick 'sport' been brought to peoples attention like this before. The NFL can suck eggs too - they don't care that they have felons playing as long as they bring in fans. I know some teams wouldn't touch him .... but it just may be that jail and the hate Vick is getting from around the country just may make him re-think what he was actually doing and give him a new perspective on how special dogs really are. My son is big into sports and he seems to think the man is genuinly sorry for what he did. He (Vick even made some humble comment like "I can't believe I'm getting a second chance when my dogs never had one"....could be he's lying or it could be he really is sorry for what he did....he really just may not have known any better. There are kids and men out there right now thinking it's fine to fight dogs -roosters - you name it - because they don't see the suffering. They see the money. Vick just may have been those people and maybe ....he sees the light now.. ok - you can start the hatin now :D I just had to say that only because there really is nothing to do about it. He got hired and will play. nice role model for kids huh ? Hope they make him talk about how wrong he was every chance he can as part of his release. I'm stepping back now so I don't get pelted with beer bottles |
I agree with you red98vett. I saw him on the news today and he said he should have stepped up to the plate and been a man and stopped this. I tend to believe him. |
dang...that was a book I just wrote ...sorry about that  going back into hiding now.... and thanks jmdt - appreciate the comment. I hope he really is sincere. He could show alot of kids what it's like to be hated for doing a really bad thing....and eventually come back a better man for this. and again - I'm VERY VERY Against what he did....just trying to shed a different light on it. |
Don't go...please don't go we need your great advice here. HELP!!! |

I know alot of people won't agree with what I said. I was tempted to write the NFL too and then my son and I talked (he used to write for ESPN sports website) and told me some of the things Vick has been quoted saying. I tend to believe (Vick) is sorry and had no idea how terrible dog fighting really is till he had his butt handed to jail on a platter... the bigger picture is..... he just could be the new voice against dog fighting - he sure attracts attention now right ? |
It seems to me that if he's truly sorry, he'll spend every minute of the rest of his life and any of his money towards making things right. Notice that playing football and keeping the millions would not be on that list. Abuse of innocent beings is one of the sickest things I've ever known a human to do. Repentence for that should take a lifetime of only good deeds. |
Michael Vick I respect each person's opinion. You have a right to express it. However-------- simply a business? Did he need money from that kind of sport ( Dog Fights)? I think not. He was making millions from the NFL. When you don't need the money, and he CERTAINLY didn't, and you participate in something so cruel, why do you do it if not for enjoyment? I know about rooster fights, dog fights, etc. They take place undercover, usually in some slimey, "enter through the back door" place. Everyone (even Michael Vick) knows it's illegal. You can't make that much money with such an undercover blood sport anyway. I'm not angry with anyone who has a different opinion. I'm just VERY angry about Michael Vick and his reinstatement. I hate that teams in the NFL are so greedy that they lose all integrity. The only thing going for Vick right now is Tony Dungee. He is a remarkable man.He will be keeping an eye on him. I guess Dungee will be mentoring him. I still don't think he should ever be allowed to play football again. Dungee said " I HOPE he has learned his lesson. I HOPE he will do better in the future." He might do better in the future because he doesn't want to get caught again. |
