Donating YT 30K Club Member | In my experience they have always been a little more expensive even more than some other small dogs but so worth it.

| I see you just joined recently. Welcome. What is your yorkies name? Have you lived in New York very long?

| they are not as popular now as they were two years ago and in fact, have dropped on the charts. Also they aren't nearly as expensive now as they were two years ago. I am getting half out of my babies that I got two years ago if I can even sell them. That's why so many breeders slowed way down on their breeding last year. |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | I got my first Yorkie back in 1977 and they were expensive then too for that time. I remember my mom almost fainting when I told her how much we paid for JT..lol. They have always been expensive dogs.

| Honestly, I think it also depends on where you live. I know in NY they got more expensive because they try to sell you on oh its a perfect apt dog type thing. A few years back I was looking at yorkies and it was half the price I paid for Maxi this year

| I have never got as much for a puppy as i paid for some of the parents but in my part of the country (all small towns) they do not sell as high as they would in bigger towns or cities. I know a lady in Ca. thats gets more than twice the money that i do and we have some of the same bloodlines

YT 500 Club Member | We have a classifieds here that I check every now and then. Well actually in SLC Utah, but I check them since there so close. They sell there breeding females on there for 500 dollars Which shouldn't they be somewhere close to 2000?

| I bought my first yorkie in 95 and spent $500. At the time I thought it was a lot of money but Chipper was worth every penny.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | hahaha I hear ya but back in 1977 $300 to pay for a dog was unheard of. Not like it is today. My second Yorkie a year later was $500 (1978). So when I got Izzy in 2007 it was sticker shock to say the least on what we paid for her..thousands and she is worth it all.

| We paid $645 for Chloe and my mom's jaw about hit the floor. My toy poodle, nine years ago, had only cost $150. I'm not sure if I'd be able to own more than one Yorkie at that price...but I gave up all birthday/Christmas presents from my husband for the next couple of years in exchange for her! -C

| I live near SLC and the prices here have gone way way down. I think there are just tons of breeders here willing to take anything they can get for a pup. I see them for $400 AKC. Crazy.

YT 500 Club Member | Have you been on the ksl classfieds? I see you live in Lehi. We are coming over there this weekend to go homecoming dress shopping for my sister The prices on KSL are way crazy cheap. Like $100 dollars for AKC registered male who they think will be around 15 lbs. Waay cheap but super cute!
