Yorkie listed at a yard sale No joke! I was reading the yard sale ads in the paper tonight and saw (listed along with a stove, bed, clothing, etc.), AKC Yorkshire $200. They listed a phone number so I just had to call. The man said they were having a moving sale and they did indeed have a Yorkie for sale. He said his family was moving to an apartment that did not allow dogs. Their Yorkie was a one year old male, small, about 5 pounds, and HOUSETRAINED. He can also do several tricks that sounded really cute. He said he was cut very short because he had gotten burrs in his fur from playing outside this summer. Well, it was too late to see him tonight and I have to work until 4 tomorrow but I am going to go see this Yorkie(my husband thinks I am crazy). We already have 2 Yorkies and feed the neighbors cats and sometimes their dogs, but I can't get the image of a Yorkie at a yard sale out of my mind. I would love to give him a loving home and I am sure Addi and Romeo would love another playmate. What do you guys think? I sure hope he is still there tomorrow night. I hate the thought of someone buying him like they would a piece of furniture. |
I think my curiousity would kill me. I would go into work a bit late :D |
That is horrible!!!!!!!! I will not take off on the a++hole selling the puppy but you can be assured that he will not be there tomorrow evening. That price makes him a steal and anyone with near the amount they are asking for him will go home with a boy under their arm. Remember, at yard sales people bargain for prices and they will do the same with him. Could you not be a bit late at work and swing by the yard sale location and get him? It would certainly be worth your time to rescue one of our beloved Yorkies.. |
aww you should get him!! |
I really want to get him but I teach school and their is no way to go in late. I am trying to figure out someone who could go and get him. That is why I am still awake. I am just afraid someone will get him that just wants to use him for breeding, resale him, or just wants a new play toy. |
Wow if I was anywhere close to you, I'd adopt him! He sounds adorable but for that price, that's a shame he's selling his FAMILY MEMBER at a yard sale to any person who thinks he's cute.....and doesn't realize he takes a lot of work and care! I want him! :( |
I agree I would find some way to get him earlier. At 200 dollars he wont be there long. |
Thats so rediculous. Those people have no decency. I would personally call them and ask them to be a little more smart and tackful when listing things in a yard sale. What a shame to know this was their companion for god knows how many years , giving unconditional love, and he is only worthy of being listed as part of a yard sale. Every time I think I have heard the worst something else pops up. What a shame. :thumbdown |
I've heard everything now. Some people are heartless! :( Poor little guy. |
You HAVE to call them first thing before work tomorrow and tell them you want the dog and you will be there at 4 with the $$. Rescue the poor baby. Then tell that sick man to take that $200 and shove it you-know-where. |
