| never heard the term teapot until now I didn't even know you called the bigger ones teapots, how cute. as for teacups, i was avoiding the breeders proclaiming to have them at all costs, i wanted a standard sized pup and i don't want it to be sick because it was too small or bred to be so small...in the old days, they called those the "runts" and they weren't MORE money, they were "less" money because of the commonness of health issues with being smaller than the rest of the litter and not getting as much milk supply. there's my two cents worth! that's all i had |

| i wanted to add that i didn't mean to offend anyone who might have a runt puppy, they are completely adorable and would steal my heart too, my cousins chose a runt on purpose because he was having a hard time getting picked out, and he's perfectly healthy and wonderful, he's a maltese named Georgie and i think he's like over 10 years old. so sorry if anyone thought i was saying that runts aren't any good, it's not the size that matters it the fact that we love our pups no matter how teapot or teacup they are!! |

| I have always been a sucker for the runts and the scruffy ones, I call these real dogs. My younger bro has an english sheepdog, but as he is a sucker for the scruffs too, he also has a 15lb scruffy mongrel, ripper his name is, but what a lovely and intelligent dog, I think he is great. | and mutt dogs rock too of course not!! lol, and you know, some people don't like the mutt dogs either, but sometimes those just make the best doggie friends in the world, so much love from rescuing one, if i had a fenced in yard and owned my own house, i'd prob. have several mutts running around!! |

| Myah is the runt of the litter....the rest of her littermates are around 6 lbs. She is just a little over 3 lbs. And she does get called runt from time to time. When people as me if she is a teacup....I just say she is the runt of the litter, which is true. I didn't pay more for her...actually she was given to me, because the breeder wanted to make sure she would be well cared for. I wish Myah would have been bigger, but she is very healthy!!! Any of the "terms" to describe their sizes don't bother me. It only bothers me when the breeders are doing it on purpose and expect more money for the small ones. |

| This is so weird, I was just thinking about this thread yesterday, I do not understand either why is ok to use teapot and teacup not, lots of people when sees Melody said oh a teacup try to correct them but some people just don't want to hear it, they look at you like so I do tell them if they see open to it, and if I have the time lol, to tell you the true here in Cali is very common the "T" word, it doesn't bother me as much anymore
