| Aww thank you!! (only issues I have is I already know she's gonna be SPOILED rotten!!) My two kiddos are spoiled rotten and now I know they will be spoiling her and me too...as well as hubby even though he really is'nt admiting to it just yet...I'm waiting but he was only agreeing for the puppy since we can't have anymore kids I told him we needed a puppy (had a kidney cancer issue a couple yrs back but doing great now but I can't have anymore children so this was my idea to have a new sweet baby doggie!) Well when we went to go see our sweet little Karlee from the lady we are purchasing her from he was acting all macho and was like its whatever if you want the puppy that's fine...a few seconds went by and I turned to see him making puppy faces at her and petting her while I was still holding her. After we came home my husband was like she won't be so bad she seems like a sweet puppy but your gonna have your work cut out she's yours LOL- I just know the way he is acting she's gonna win him over big time and he will be probaly spoiling her more than me!!!!! HAHA! |

| Welcome, You are gonig to LOVE having a yorkie they are the best :-) to answer your questions about the food I can tell you NOT to give her anything Nutro or Nutromax, it was recalled and apparently making furbabies very sick and some were even dying, we were giving ours nutromax but as soon as i found out i switched to purina and they LOVE it! don't be surprised if she gets diarhea for a couple of days abruptly changing a dogs food can upset their stomachs so just give her a little time to adjust. If you do decide to crate train be prepared to lose a few hours of sleep listening to her wimper. I found that if you sleep in an old T shirt for a couple of nights to make it smell like you then put it in her cage, also if you can get an old clock that ticks and put it i her cage wrapped up it sounds like mom's heart beat and will help comfort her. I just went out and bought a whole bunch of new toy for my babies and the favorite has been a stuffed giraffe from pet smart, he's white and orange. I don't know what is so great about him but the dogs love him and only play with him, none of the other ones i got, we've been through 4 already i just went to pet smart and bought all of the ones they had on the shelf so now i have a life time supply haha! I give my babies a bath once every 2 weeks unless they get exceptionally stinky, their hair is like human hair so it does get greasy from petting them and what not, i keep their hair really short in the summer and cut it once a month, one month i do it and the next i send them to the groomers. during the winter they go maybe every 2 months and i just keep them brushed. Hope i helped a little, as you come across more questions please come and ask us there's lots of help available.

| I just finished reading the rest of your posts so i have more to write haha. When i had just shilo i went through a small bag of food maybe once a month. I would leave her bowl full all day and at night she would get a little bit of wet food, i got the big cans and a can would last me a week. Now we go through a 40lbs bag of food every two weeks but i have 2 yorkies and a boxer. My husband was the same way as yours! It was so funny. She came with me when we got married and before we moved in together he kept saying shes a stupid little dog and he wanted to punt her like a foot ball (of course he never did i would have killed him!!) but then one night i heard him say i love you to her and i called him out on it and he just kept denying it saying she was just a stupid little dog, but now they are inseperable and he spoils her worse than me! I don't think you need to worry about your husband haha!

1. I have just adopted my puppy 2 weeks ago. She's about 5 months so what I do is mix Nature's Balance -small bites for small breeds- with her old sample formula her breeder gave to me (50/50). And before each meal, I give her a little supplement of Nutrical for Puppies and take her outside to relieve herself. Nutrical is a kind of puppy vitamin that tastes sweet to puppies. It gives nice sugar balance to avoid hypoglocemia (a disease that puppies can obtain around 12-18 weeks get when having low blood sugar). 2. Most puppies will whine on the first nights. You might want to keep her close to you, so she knows you're right there. My puppy, and this is totally her preference, loves closed spaces. I keep her in my bathroom, which is very big, and she knows I'm there. So she pretty much sleeps through the whole night Well until around 7:30, which is when she'll start barking 3. I first bought Tinky a small bobo toy from Petsmart. A mini version of this http://www.dog-online.co.uk/images/mini_loofadog.jpg. But other then that, all of her toys, except for one, squeak when you squeeze them, which gives her lots of interest in chewing on them. Something like this http://www.zooplus.co.uk/bilder/mini...nspielze_1.jpg. 4. Most owners blow dry, which is probably the easiest way but to be honest, I towel dry my baby. I don't know why, but its a preference. I just tend to brush her afterwards until her coat is tangle free. Extra advice: The first week will be very confusing for the pup. If she has an accident, firmly say no, and put her somewhere where she CANNOT watch you clean her mess up. To me, if Tinky watched me clean up her mess, she'd probably think its okay to relieve herself there and pee there again. I reccomend buying a gallon of Nature's Miracle, that stuff works the best I hope my advice helped you mucho. xoxo, Tiffany

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk and the wonderful world of being owned by a yorkie. They are such wonderful little creatures. Be very, very careful......she will (if she hasn't already) melt your heart in a blink of the eye. I don't know that I have anything to add to what has already been said. You have gotten some great advice. I am so happy for you. You sound like you are going to be a wonderful mommy to her. She is a lucky little girl. (By the way, I really like her name). Please post pics when you get some and keep us posted on her progress. Take care and Congrats!!!!!
