| My Andy has a beautiful long coat. He is my buddy around the house, a regular dog. Does it make him less of a man to have long hair? Definitely not! He is quite a little guy. The coat length is strictly the preference of the owner, some choose to cut it to different lengths. It is all in what makes you happy. Look at pictures of show dogs, don't they all have long beautiful coats? Yep! Are they all female? Nope!

| Thor's Human Donating Member | Thor looks kind of girly no matter what, but everyone assumes he's a girl when he has a top knot. I think it has to do with the shape of the face, and of course, your personal preference.

| Ben has to the floor hair. People often call him a girl when they do not know -- I say "he is really pretty, but all boy!" I don't let it bother me, even when he has a little football bow in. I will let 5 month old Rocky's hair grow full too, when he gets his adult hair. I am thinking he needs a puppy cut for now though as he is looking pretty straggly. When I had Sadie, I kept her cut short as her hair was so thick and the summers are so hot here. That used to always confuse people. She was also the larger one. So, people were always thinking she was the male and Ben the female. It was a natural mistake. Don't let anything people say bother you. Remember, none of us knew a lot about yorkies at one time or another. I used to think putting clothes on a dog was silly -- silly me! Now that I have Yorkies, it seems like the most natural thing in the world, especially when they get cold.

| My male also has long hair and since he is better groomed than most other dogs, some of my friends (especially men) calls him a girl by mistake. But now that I have June, they seem to embrace him manliness. And let me tell you, Cash is all man! Hehe, he is really pretty, but he can play fetch with the best of 'em. I have kept his face short in the past and am thinking about growing it, but I don't want to hinder his playing, etc. June takes everything out of his hair, so I guess she likes her men without bows and ribbons. I also thought putting clothes on dogs was silly, but with yorkies you have to, especially during our rainy winters. I think long hair is beautiful on yorkies and I really want my dogs to have long, true yorkie coats, regardless of whether they are male or female.

| Its all personal preference. I am keeping my Fergus in coat (not thre quite yet) and he always has what I call a "sprout" (not quite a topknot yet!) with either a manly collored little barrette, or a blue, green, yellow or red bow. My father, on the other hand, would kill me dead if I tried to put Callum's hair up....

| Teddy Thy has long hair and has a top knot I LOVE it!!! I jokingly say he is metrosexual because he is always in polos and shorts or some outfit BUT always boy clothes. Some people are blind and don't look at the clothes. For goodness sakes, you wouldn't call a baby a girl if he was dressed in blue LOL

| I keep Gus's bangs a bit shorter and they just split to the side. My girls will pull any bow out of his hair if I put one in. |
