| YT Addict | Harley is 10 months and 12.2 pounds. I had heard they stop growing around 6 months but he hasn't. I've had several people tell me he can't be a Yorkie because he is so big. I guess alot of people think of Yorkie's as teeny tiny. Just more to love. |

| Just because he is bigger doesn't mean he's not a yorkie. Welcome to the teapot club. Looks like a yorkie to me. Very cute!!

| My yorkie girl Twinkle came from parents that were within the standard size but she's 12lb now...my little boy Wicket is 6lb at the moment, but he's only six months so I think he might eventually be a teapot too (I'm kind of hoping he will be - he looks so tiny compared to Twink and I worry a bit when they play rough together) They are the perfect 'fit' for our family's outdoorsy lifestyle, with two young children and a larger breed dog. I think everyone will agree that all yorkies are beautiful - whatever their size xxx xxx

| I love bigger yorkies! I thought my Ollie would be 10 pounds, but he is stuck at half of that. The number "7" pounds is the standard... which doesn't mean that if a dog is bigger or smaller, it is not full blooded, or not a yorkie. My MIL has two, one about 13 lbs, the other closer to 15. They look every bit like a yorkie, registered with the AKC, they are just bigger... and sweet as sugar! Congrats on getting your furbaby! |

| Yes the Breed standard says 4-7lbs but some are under (like my Pixie!) and some are over..doesn't mean they are not all Yorkie!

Actually, the breed standard says: Weight Must not exceed seven pounds. There is no bottom weight. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America | |

| Maybe he's a mix? Or maybe a Silky. My neighbor has the cutest Silky. Looks like a teacup, but 15lbs. His underbelly fur looks dark in some photos. Typically when they mature some will retain their black fur but they have their brown fur on the belly side. Did you meet the parents of your dog? |

| Zena is 8 months old and 7.5 pounds. Her parents are 6.2 and 6.5 pounds. She was the runt of the litter and is larger than her parents and siblings. Go figure! We love her size; not too big and not too small! We would love her just the same if she was 20 pounds! |
