| Is my Bailey abnormal because he isn't a fluff ball? My poor Bailey is always having a bad hair day! He is over 14 weeks and the hair on his head and chin area is so stringy! He doesn't have the big thick fluff on his face that I see on so many other little yorkie babies. Also the hair on his paws isn't really growing much, it kind of stops growing at his ankles Is it unusual for his fur to be thin and stringy on his head? Poor baby needs rogaine or something, I'm hoping it thickens up, the longer it gets the more bad hair days he is having

| He looks like two of my babies. It will grow in. It seems like since he is stringy the puppy hair is going away and the stringyness is the adult hair coming in. My Autumn is like that now look at her. Her hair is nice and long. Her hair on her legs is still not really there but she is getting it. I don't do anything special to her hair. I have read on here that some of them use supplements or hair cremes. The first pic is Autumn and the second is one of my puppies.

| Are you sure that he is purebred? He looks just like my brother's girlfriends chihuahua yorkie mix.. I can definately see alot of chihuahua in him..Either way he is precious and you love him so that is all that matters.... |

| Don't stress yourself out over whether or not he's a purebred. Yorkie hair types vary so much. I've seen them silky, wiry, cottony...Ginger and Bernie have such completely different hair types it's hard to believe they are the same breed...Also, a yorkie's hair goes through a lot of changes in the first year, wait and see what happens.

| Maybe you could post his pic in the breeder forum and ask their opinion. They know a lot more about it.

| He is still so young, but he does look like he could be mixed- kinda almost like a Dachshund because he is so short and long! LoL but there are so many different types of Yorkies and they all vary in shape and hair, I think time will tell he could just be in a funk.

| I know what you mean! My Duchess had 5 and Contessa had 2. One pup from each litter has thin hair. The others are fluffy. They all have the same features and I know they are Yorkies. I started thinking to myself as they are growing up, " is this what my breeder meant when she said sometimes you have some ugly yorkies "the not so desireable hair" but you still gotta love them. This was my first litter where they came out like this. But they are still pure bred Yorkies no mixes what so ever. There hair does grow out she said. And then they look like all the other Yorkies!
