Thanks All, Baileys eyes glow green in most pics, so I figure he is silky, he's definately not a cotton coat! Either way he is my boy and I love him to pieces:p |
Darlene, that's all that matters. He's your guy. All of our yorkies look different, that's what makes them so special to us! :) |

My Callie's hair on her head sometimes looks "thin" but it is because the new hair color is coming in (the silver) so it makes it look like you are seeing a white scalp...giving the illusion that her hair is 'thinning'...when really is is as thick as can be. Your puppy looks the same way to me. He also looks perfectly normal and pure bred to me in every way. I think is is gorgeous!~ He looks very tiny too like my baby. Callie is 14 weeks old and weighs 1.9. I love her SOOOO much! |

Yes, Bailey has been "grey" on top for some time now..it does make the hair look thinner..Bailey's head hair tends to lay flat and lifeless..my poor baby, lol! Awe, you have a tiny baby too, my guy is below 2 lbs as well:) |
I was told Marley is a purebred yorkie... 1 Attachment(s) And the breeder even brought the yorkie "parents" to show us when she brought us Marley. She said it was "possible" that his father was a different dog (possibly Shih Tzu, since that's what her brother owned) but that she was pretty certain that Marley was a purebred yorkie. My daughters and I looked at her as if she'd lost her mind, but we fell in love with Marley at first sight, so it doesn't matter that he's... well, whatever he is. We often have a good laugh when we remind each other that he is a purebred yorkie. :) It doesn't matter who the little guy's parents are. We wouldn't trade him for the prettiest showdog in the world. A lot of yorkies look different, so yours may well be purebred. I just thought you'd get a laugh out of our "purebred yorkie," Marley. (We call him "Moo" because his face reminds us of a cow sometimes - he just STARES at you.) |

I think he is adorable. I also think he is all yorkie. :) I think sometimes the smaller yorkies kind of have thinner hair... But look at my Suri. She started out as a fat little fur ball...then had kind of thin hair...then had a beautiful coat coming in. Yorkies are funny because they change so much and you can never guess what they will look like. I bet your little man will be a handsome guy when he grows up, because he is just so adorable now how could he not be. :P |
Your little Bailey is absolutely adorable!!!:) |
He looks like a cute little yorkie thats gonna have a nice silk coat to me. Silk coats are thinner |
Bailey is adorable, and looks all yorkie to me...At 14 weeks, my Apple's hair seemed spindly on her legs, and I think I even posted something about it? I think I said it looked like she was growing out of her legs lol...Anyway, she's almost 9 months old, now, and the hair on her legs is growing out nicely (glad it's her legs, and not mine :D)...Also, I think she has rather thin hair, which concerned me, in the beginning...However, I am sooooooo glad she doesn't have really thick hair, because I brush her twice a day, for about one or two minutes, and she never ever has mats...Since I work, I'm so glad I don't have to spend lots of time grooming her, and she still stays free of mats...Consider it a blessing, if his hair is a little thinner, I do :) |

Aww Bailey is a cutie pie! :D If you want to see what a yorkie/chi mix looks like, Pixel is one and I have pics in my album. I don't think Bailey looks much like him at all. |
Bailey is absolutely adorable! Puppy hair varies so much! Roxy is gray on top as well and it is so cute! However, I wonder if she has eyes sometimes because the hair on her muzzle is so puffy (as opposed to the hair on her head). I love his body coat, it looks like Roxy's as well. How old is he? You said he was still under 2 lbs? So is Roxy....she is almost 14 weeks and 1.5 lbs. (but eats like a little pigglet!!) What a doll baby you have! |

Congratulations, and enjoy him! |

Like people, I think it would be boring if they were all exactly alike! He is a doll! |
He looks to me like a red legged yorkie. Their hair tends to grow in slower and kinda stringy. It is especially short on their legs. |

I have a Champion male that looked very much like your pup, and didn't grow coat until approximately 18 months of age. That's him in my Avitar. By the way he's adorable. |

I don't know this dog, I just googled 'red legged yorkie'. |
2 Attachment(s) Mikki didn't have a fluffy face and body either as a puppy and now she has such a wonderful silky coat... Your little boy is just adorable and what makes him look a little like Chi mix are the eyes that a bulging out a bit... I think that's gonna change... oh... and she is short and long too but lately she's growing in height a bit so she looks more square... We bred horses and always said: Look at the fole on the day it is born and then when it's 3 years old. In between it's ugly anyway... |
He doesn't look like a red like, no pointed muzzle. Face is to cutsie....hair does not look wirery . |
