| short grooming styles Just wondering how short everyone keeps their dogs coat. I just brought Mollie back from the groomers; I didn't even recognize her. My baby looks sooo different. I wanted her short, but she is shaved. I didn't mind the body short, but the head is shaved also. For those of you that keep your dog short, what do you tell the groomer? |

| I tell her I want a yorkie cut and I want enough left on the head for a topknot.

| I took a picture of Buddy at 12 weeks and asked for a puppy cut, similar to what he looked like at that age and not to have a topnot. Boys shouldn't have bows in my opinion. My groomer did it with scissors by hand and it was perfect, I was so happy after reading stories of being "shaved" on this board. |

| Puppy Cut I LOVE Loki in a puppy cut, including his head. I think it makes his facial expressions so cute. In July I had him cut short to where people would say he was "shaved" but he really wasn't. I had him trimmed again in August and it's grown out SO much in just a month that he needs to go back in. Even if I let his body stay longer for the summer I will keep his face shorter because I love it so much. It makes it SO easy to give him a bath since he dries so quickly. I'll post pictures when I get home, if you'd like? |

| Stomper has been getting the puppy cut for the last 2 months. I like it short when it is hot outside.

I Love Thor Donating Member | I like Thors hair sorta long and scraggly. I am growing it out more so I can give him a nice top knot because I think that top knots are cute on boys and girls!!! I would ber scared to bring him to the groomers for any kind of cute becuase i don't like the 'clean cut' look...jmo |

| I think that THIS one is obviously the BEST short-hair style! |

| I keep Ruby in a long coat. I only give her a sanitary shave around her lower abdomen and anus vulva area. Also shave her paws at the bottom. |

| I keep Rowdy in a puppy cut - these pix are about 3 weeks from the groomers. I think she clips him to about an inch long all over. |

| I love how you had Rowdy groomed! Think I'll print his pic for when I'm ready to take Joey. I expect that length requires a "scizzors cut", though, which will be more expensive than a shave. We'll have to see... |

| I tell the groomer to cut Lillie no shorter than 2 inches all over, and a puppy cat around her face. She has enough hair to not look shaved, but not so much as to be hard to handle. |
