| Dogsitting a sad yorkie.... So my friend had some a family emergency and had to go out of town quickly. I have known her and her dog for some time, and when i left town they watched Coral for me. Louie has never been to my house, nor has he been left with anyone to care for hime before. He and Coral love eachother and are pleaying and he is cuddling with me some, but he has yet to eat. It hasn't been 24 hours yet, but i dont know how i can get him to eat or how long i can wait it out. Will he just eat when he is hungry enough? (he is on the bigger side, like 12 lbs) Any suggestions would be great!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | When I go out of town my male yorkie stops eating too, I have someone come over if I'm gone more than a couple of days and I have them sit with him at the food bowl and he will generally eat...also hand feeding also helps. Maybe give him a specia treat? Mashed sweet potato is very healthy for them and they love it! Hope this helps!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Also, give the sweet potato on tablespoon to your Yorkie and I bet he will want some too, they always want what the other one has, just like a kid...let me know how it comes out. My yorkie has IBD and they both get a tablespoon of mashed sweet potato in the morning and another one at night.

| Mine won't eat either while I'm gone. They'll be o.k. maybe just up the treats if you have to.

| We left our little girl one night and would never do it again. She wouldn't eat and paced the floor all night. My parents even carried her and put her in their bed. She just kept going from door to door. The food suggestions mentioned above sound great. I could even go for some sweet potato myself! yummy |
