Pros/Cons of getting a very small yorkie

I have a 3Lb Pure bred Shih Tzu in the house along with my 8-9 Lb Yorkie . I personally cannot wait for little Miley to grow!!! We have had Miley for 3weeks now and got her when she was only 2Lbs . Miley copies everything Suzi does! She thinks she is such a big dog! And geez what a huge size difference it is > Miley is so tiny. She has a lot of hair, it is one of those breeds , just like the Yorkies, I have stepped on the poor babies , paws a few times accidently w/o shoes thankfully, however , I feel so awful every time She's always under my feet> All the time . I am now thinking this little one might be a small shih tzu. I do not know Her mother was good size, but the father was smaller. I prefer the bigger sized dogs, Hoever, they are still quite little .
I have actually seen the tinies advertised as "micro size teacups for sale"

mscat, I am glad to hear that you got your puppy and that all is well

I have a 3lb puppy of 5 months and I can't wait for her to grow. She was about 1.2lbs when I got her and although she is the healthiest, happiest puppy I have ever known, I am always afraid I might hurt her.

My other one, Cash, is 10lbs and June keeps up with him! She wrestles with him, chases him, plays tug-of-war with him, everything. Sidebar: I think Cash has fallen in love with June !

3lbs is very small for me, June is really tiny. I mean, she is just a puppy and will still grow some, but if she should stay this size, I would be sick with worry the whole time. I am hoping she gets to be at least 6lbs.

For me, the problem with buying such a small baby would be the breeding practices behind the small yorkie. If it was purely an accident of nature, it is fine, but if she was intentionally bred to be small, I would be worried.

Small yorkies are beautiful, but then again, small for me is between 4 and 6lbs. I would never own a smaller yorkie, but that's just me.

Actually, I have a 2 year old 3lb'er that is in very good health..no problems so far...but then she was purchased from a reputable, experienced breeder, so perhaps she has a better chance of staying healthy...and i WAS NOT charged more money for her because of her smaller size. Sometimes the hobby show breeders will occasionally get a smaller puppy that will need a good caring home..these are the people to buy from.
