Rehoming Riley tomorrow Tomorrow is when I'll take Riley to his new owner. Its going to be so hard. I'm trying to figure out the easiest way of leaving him with her. Should I just give her all his toys and his carrier? I'm afraid that will make him be confused longer since those toys are connected to me. If that makes sense. So does anyone have any ideas to make this a smooth transition for him?

You would be surprised at how fast they get over us. I grieved myself half todeath over two females I raised and rehomed. One week later i got all kinds of pictures and they looked happier than ever. By all means, send his carrier and his toys with him. he will not associate these with you per se, but they will be something familiar to him. When you take him, do not prolong your goodbye. trust me, it is much harder on you than it will be on him. he will be fine. Sorry you are having todo this.

I am so sorry to hear that! I would send him with his favorite things I tried to rehome my kitty and I ended up going back to get her, because I couldn't take it
