| Obsession? Do you ever feel like you are too obsessed with your furbaby? I am so attached to Laya and sometimes I wonder if I'm normal or am I being a little crazy. My life pretty much revolves around her and her needs. I've been told I need to get a life!!!

| I've only been a yorkie mom for a little more then a month and I think about my little boy every second. I get a lot of criticism from my mom cause she says that I am using Davey as a substitute for a husband or child...and she might be right (mommys usually are). No matter what the reasons are, my life has never felt as full as it does now that I have Davey. He makes me so happy and mornings are now my favorite part of the day. We cuddle and snuggle and I know he loves me too. Like everything in life, moderation is always best...but if you're doing it all in a happy and healthy way, I see nothing wrong with loving your furbaby. |

| I think it's pretty safe to say almost everyone here on YT is obsessed with our babies. LOL Quote:

Sometimes I feel like a big LOSER, lmao! I sit back and am like... OK, am I putting TOO much time into this dog? He's MY first dog, besides family dogs, so he's really like my baby. But in a good way. I don't consider him spoiled. Like, the other night... a few of my friends went to see Transformers 2 but it was at the movie theater an hour away and the movie didn't start until 10:45pm. She wanted me to just crash at her house since it's closer to her house, rather than driving all the way home. I ended up not going because Jackson was at home, and even though my parents were there, I wanted to be sure to be there for him at night, lol. If I don't HAVE to leave him overnight, I won't.

| I think you're completely normal. But maybe I only say that because I'm the same way! Lola has changed my life, there's no other way to say it. I often times would prefer to stay home and watch her sleep than be out on the town. I just think we form bonds with these little guys that make them just like family. Don't worry... anyone who tells you to get a life clearly has never had a yorkie!

| You have no idea how many times I've asked myself the same question...Look at my signature, as it says it all!...But after much thought and speculation, I don't think its crazy or obsessed, as they allow us to be happy, and that's a good thing (as Martha Stewart would say lol)...Everyone has their thing, whether it's sports, hobbys, children, or whatever, ours just happens to be our yorkie...Now the real question is why do some people want to brand us as "different", because we adore our yorkies? I don't get that? But then I'm not on the planet to try to understand what goes on in someone elses' mind, just mine, and I'm totally o.k. w/my love for my Apple...One benefit of getting older, is you just don't care what other people think, so much, and it is sooooooo liberating |

| I do try and keep some balance. I have to remember at times that Jemma is a canine and I need to allow her to be one. I'm afraid if I do the 24-7, all about Jemma, then God forbid if I HAD to go away or she had to stay overnight at a vets or something. She wouldn't handle it well. But I do feel guilty if I'm out shopping and she's been alone for a extended period of time plus my hours away at work. 8 hours a day now . I'm afraid that she might feel I left her. I think in one respect, being away 8 hours a day can be a good thing. Gives her a little more independance and she seems to be handeling it well now. I just don't make a big deal in the morning when I leave. I sort of ignore her about 10 minutes before I leave, then just leave like normal. She watches me out the window as I drive away...sniff sniff. And I don't make a big deal when I come home for about 10 minutes. That seems to calm her down quickly. BUT, after that 10 minutes, boy do I make up for it for the rest of the night. She cuddles so close to me in bed. In the morning she either kisses me awake or lays half her body across my chest with her nose 2 inches from mine waiting for me to wake up. I'll move my head a tiny bit, keep my eyes closed and she is fiercly wagging her tail. Yeaaaa, Mommy is waking up. lol I just love her to death.

| I agree w/jemma....I work 7 1/2 hrs. a day and I think that gives balance for Apple...And, like jemma, I don't make a big deal when I'm leaving for work...But how funny is this...She knows when I'm going out the front door to go to the yard, mailbox, etc., and she nips and growls at my feet to go w/me...But when I'm going to work, she just sits back, and lets me leave peacefully;they are so smart!!!....I know she doesn't like it, when I'm gone, but her toys are all over the place, when I get home, so I know she has carried on, as usual...And what a joy she is to come home to |

| WAIT!!?? You mean there's life outside of my yorkies????? OMG! I was not informed of this!! Was there a memo?? LOL I can't tell you how many times I have dodged going out, or taking a trip bc I don't want to leave my dogs. Especially Duncan....he and I are joined at the hip. I swear that dog can read my thoughts! He yells at the cat for me, he helps clean the pool with me coz I cant stand to have leaves in it, he is like a lil general when the girls are bickering.....now if I could only teach him to do the dishes, vacumme and cook! I must say tho, in the times that I do go away, I have the best dog sitter in the entire world!! She lives at my house and cares for them, and the bird and the mean fish. She is an angel and she loves them as much as I do! The best part is, they love her too. They are happy and secure with her and she sends me daily texts to let me know how things are and what funny lil things they have done that day. I never worry (too much) when Aunt Chris is here. She makes going away so much easier!
