I think she would need to tell her sister immediately. What is she to do with the little body? Her sister might want her cremated. She can't hold the little body there until her sister comes home.
OP I suggest your sister be notified ASAP. She can tell you on the phone what she wants done. My fur baby means a lot to me. I would want to know immediately and yes I probably would come home. But at least your sister has the choice and you're not making it for her.

What does your gut feeling tell you is right? Go with that ! You will all get through it...life presents challenging experiences such as these ...... you will all get through it .....have faith.

oh that is so sad..... i would never leave my baby alone even if i had a pool... i would take him with me... im sorry to hear this...

One of my sweet babies died while I was away and my vet held his body in the freezer until I could get back and say goodbye. I was very glad for that time.

I\'m so sorry this happened. It was an accident. I bet your sister will understand that and not blame you. Again, very sorry. :(

I am so sorry this happened to you.. I know your about out of your mind now with worry.. any one would be..Please know I will be thinking of you at this time.. and watch for an update on both you and your sister... hugs

I am so very sorry this has happened to you, and so sorry for your sister and poor little Jill. My heart goes out to you all.

My daughter kept my yorkie last week while we were out of state, and I was a nervous wreck that he would drown in her pool. I know it only takes a minute for it to happen. Every time we go to my daughter\'s house, my dog either jumps in or falls into the pool. This was the first time I had ever left my dog with anyone, and I was very concerned about the pool, but I had nobody else I trusted to keep him and we couldn\'t take him with us. A few years ago my sister\'s neighbor\'s yorkie drown in my sister\'s pool, and I\'ll never forget how traumatic it was for all involved.

Again, my heart breaks for all of you. And FWIW, I would not want to know my dog died while I was on my vacation. I would rather not find out the bad news until we got home.
