| Novocain in baby shampoos??????? My daughter is also a hairstylist and she told me that baby shampoo has Novocain in it, thats why thay can say (NO MORE TEARS). Now i am not sure about this but she is like a walking text book on some of the chemicals that are in hair products. Does anyone know how true this is?

| you may not need to label correctly on pet products but you DEFFINATLY do on people products. Johnsons no more tearrs is a HUMAN product and therefore is also under strict guidelines to label correctly. I use people shampoo on toby (i use johnsons no more tears as a matter of fact ) |

If you want to believe everything the company says or lists then so be it. I thought YT was a forum for learning..... And talking about our Yorkies. So if I have a question about something I may need to ask someone else i dont need to hear the sarcasticness in a reply..

| i dont understand how my reply was sarcastic.... i think you took it the wrong way, sarcastic was not the way it was intended.... I have been informed that people products must label their products correctly... Is that wrong? i dont doubt that there may be some "extras" in pet products .. i wouldnt know the specifics.... but i do use people shampoo on toby and it is johnsons and johnsons.... these were all the facts i stated above and am at a loss as to how it can be considered a "sarcastic" tone you may feel free to ask someone else if you wish, but i just happened to reply to the thread |

| If there were novacaine, I think one might notice a numbing of cuts or the skin or some such. An easy way to test this would be to rub a little onto your tongue. If it goes numb, then there's probably a numbing effect due to something in the product. Your toungue would be just as sensitive as eyes to a numbing agent and so would make a good bar for comparison. I have never noticed a numbing effect from this stuff, so I doubt that there's anything like that in there. The PH explanation makes a lot of sense to me since this stuff still burns my eyes (always has). I have an unusually basic PH ballance, so if that's what's supposed to offset the burning, then that explains why it doesn't work for me. Also, one might think that they reffer quite casually to their extensive "clinical testing". Quote:

| I understand what your saying. I had just asked a question. When my daughter told me that, I said the same thing. She said, theres not enough in there to hurt anyone but that there was some of this agent in the shampoos. Anymore not to much shocks me. When you've been in this industry for so long nothing much does.. I was hoping that the post wasnt meant to be sarcastic, I guess I focused on the last sentance to much, And If I misunderstood then im sorry for that.. Lets move on
